Today we have built a portfolio of 23 high-quality bioindustrial investments within Foodtech, Agtech, Biochemicals and Biomaterials. Our goal is to increase this effort significantly and we are looking for an ambitious and driven senior investment professional to take the lead in managing our global bioindustrial investment opportunities across the Asia Pacific region.

The Job

As a senior Bioindustrials investment professional, you will be responsible for managing investment opportunities and portfolio management within in Asia. You will take the lead in identifying and originating investment opportunities in the Bioindutrials sector. Your role will include scoping, managing the content, due diligence, structuring, negotiations and other workstreams related to investment projects and portfolio companies. You will provide leadership and direction to a team of investment professionals that includes technical/commercial, legal, tax and financial expertise.

You will work closely with the management teams of the prospective investment opportunities during the due diligence process. The key diligence questions are formulated and addressed through review of scientific literature, database searches and interviews with key opinion leaders or industry experts. The outcome is documented in reports and presentations, and the analysis provides the background for prioritising investment opportunities. You are expected to leverage your scientific, financial and commercial skills and take the led to finalize the investment recommendations.

Further to this, you will collaborate closely on investment activities with our investment teams in Asia as well as with other departments and teams located in San Francisco, Boston, London and Copenhagen. Our Asia team located in Singapore and China focuses on venture-, growth- and principal investments across subsectors within the health and life sciences.

In this role, you will be reporting to the Senior Partner, Head of Bioindustrial Investments, and Senior Partner, Head of Asia.

Requirements

Professional & Personal Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 10 years of experience working at a Investment Bank or Private Equity Firm with a strong understanding of the Bioindustrials sector with experience leading a team / coaching juniors.

The ideal candidate has an educational background (M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field which includes but not limited to engineering, biology, agriculture/ food technology, or Biosynthesis and Bio Ingredients) combined with strong investment skills.

You have an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to manage the complexity of working with scientific founders and management teams to address critical issues that will eventually ensure profitable investment decisions.

You possess excellent analytical skills and a sense for linking science and business, including solid communication skills, an open mindset and a proactive approach. Finally, international experience and network is an advantage.
