The Role Responsibilities

The role of a senior fixed income strategist within the Wealth Management \xe2\x80\x93 Chief Investment Office will involve (i) creation and maintenance of high quality views on global rates and credit asset classes for the investment committee, (ii) selection of bonds for the house view preferred list through both qualitative and quantitative approaches, (iii) being a strong advocate of the CIO Office views to both internal stakeholders and external clients, (iv) maintenance of a high quality governance process and (v) help mentor younger team members. Author market commentary in support of these via written, verbal and digital communication channels.

Strategy

  • Lead selection of high quality bond market views in a multi-asset class context
  • Lead selection of high quality bond ideas for the CIO preferred list
  • Demonstrate quality of views via strong performance of views
Business
  • Drive traction of CIO views across the full range of business stakeholders
Processes
  • Ensure view formation process adheres to the CIO Office investment process
People & Talent
  • Help mentor junior team members and help them grow
Risk Management
  • Actively manage risk of fixed income views, both at asset class and CIO preferred list levels
Governance
  • Ensure all processes remain well documented and that documented processes are demonstrably adhered to

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Education: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent
  • Licenses: CFA preferred, but not required
  • 5 + Years experience in Banking domain and FX.
  • Experience in Credit advisory or credit research is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
