What the role is:This is a 2-year contract position Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Social Innovation, Design Thinking, Interdisciplinary Projects) in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary Studies.What you will be working on:Curriculum development, course delivery (face-to-face/online) and project facilitation & supervision for youth and adult learners in the following areas:Social SustainabilityDesign Thinking & LUMA RecipesMultidisciplinary industry-based projectsProject Management & Multidisciplinary CollaborationsInterdisciplinary LearningComplex problem solving - research, ideation and prototypingCommunication for Social ChangeLead and identify new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations with industry stakeholders, related government agencies, social enterprises, community organisations & institutes of higher learningsBe up to date with the latest developments in social innovation, human-centred design and interdisciplinary learningManage administrative work related to teaching and assigned projectsWhat we are looking for:We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our academic team as a Lecturer in Social Innovation. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of change-makers, equipping students and adult learners with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to tackle complex social challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions.Candidates should have prior experience in or a related discipline. Competent to develop, teach and provide leadership in the following areas:Social InnovationDesign thinkingMultidisciplinary industry-based projectsEssential pre-requisites relating to years of experience, skills, knowledge and attributes:Relevant qualifications in Design, Social Sciences, Humanities, Business or equivalentStrong understanding of social innovation concepts, trends, and practices, with hands-on experience in social enterprise, non-profit management, or social impact consulting preferredDemonstrated ability to apply innovative pedagogical approaches, adopt multidisciplinary perspectives and use technology to enhance teaching and learningExperience in engaging with industry stakeholders, social enterprises, community organizations, and/or government agencies is highly desirableAn agile team player with good interpersonal and communication skillsProject/time management and attention to detailAbout Ngee Ann Polytechnic:At Ngee Ann Polytechnic, our nine academic schools offer over 40 full-time diplomas to a growing student population of more than 15,000.
