Uses logistics knowledge, technical expertise and operations experience to assist in correcting process or equipment issues which improve process performance and reliability for one or multiple transportation modes. In addition, this role works with key partners to optimize operations on a regular basis. Depending on the role, the candidate will need to provide specific modal expertise (Bulk Marine, Terminals). The role also entails tracking metrics, other tactical assistance, and project/work process support within their area of expertise.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Utilizes logistics knowledge, technical expertise and operations experience to assist in correcting process or equipment issues which improve process performance and reliability.
• Works with Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) and logistics operations personnel to create methods to optimize operations.
• Participates in advanced troubleshooting and coach others to learn these skills. Implement best practices.
• Interacts with other Dow (global) regions to resolve order issues for inter-area shipments.
• Ensures Most Effective Technology and specific operating discipline requirements are in place.
• Interfaces with third party logistics providers and ensure contractual obligations are met with no penalties or fines incurred.
• Communicates technical information and issues to operations and/or technology.
• Responds to and resolve customer or internal product quality or service incidents.
• Administers logistics contracts where needed to maximize benefits to Dow.
• Supports Procurement tender negotiation and implementation with operational expertise.
• Initiates changes to operating procedures to ensure that they are valid and up-to-date.
• Initiate or implement Change Management
• Review audit result and action plan to close gaps from Logistics Service Provider (LSP) audit or assessment
• Supports and assists with Customer Complaint investigation and identification of corrective and preventative measures.
• Review and validate Root Cause Investigation, Corrective Action, Preventive Actions related to unplanned events with Logistics Service Provide to prevent recurrence
• Lead or collaborate cross functions for logistics value proposition and/or value creation for the businesses

Experience

• Required education: University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences
• Required experience: More than 6 years of experience in a Supply Chain or Manufacturing environment or logistics operations and/or management
• The critical competencies required for success are: supply chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs, team work, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, ability to prioritize work, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, SAP knowledge preferred analytical skills and project management skills
