Looking for an Asia Logistics Leadership role as part of the Global Logistics (GLOG) department in an international organization?
Work as Senior Manager, APAC Logistics The Senior Manager, APAC Logistics, is a role operating in a highly complex environment with 4 divisions to serve with solutions for transportation, customs clearance and duties and Distribution Centers for finished goods and Warehouses for raw materials at the factories. The goal of the APAC Logistics department is to ensure that the products are delivered in a way that meets or exceeds the customer expectations of our 4 divisions while minimizing costs, maximizing service, being compliant with regulations in the region and reducing C02 in the process. You are responsible for transportation, Distribution centres and trade & compliance processes and budgets in the region APAC for all divisions.
Your focus is to establish an end-to-end APAC organization with clear accountability on cost performance, quality, service, productivity, sustainability and people development. Will be working closely with 4 divisional APAC stakeholders to oversee all day-to-day logistics operations and escalations while at the same time customizing the global long-term GLOG strategic roadmap to the specific situation in an APAC.
Your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • The APAC Logistics Sr Manager has full accountability and direct responsibility for the APAC logistics day-to-day operations and spending which includes freight, DC costs, shipping and DC admin, and training and brokerage budgets. The APAC logistics budget is > 400 MDKK/year. You are the leader in the execution of the material flow process.
  • Responsible for cost, service (on-time performance), distribution quality and sustainability KPIs. You optimize the transportation flows in APAC and are requested to promote productivity spend reduction initiatives in transportation, services, and Distribution Centers (5 DCs)
  • You work closely together with all APAC stakeholders in the divisions (Plants, sales, planners, CSSC, finance) to prioritize the daily operational issues and to align and drive divisional strategic initiatives in APAC. You support continued improvement and benchmark exercises on the APAC DC and warehousing footprint ensuring compliance to group standards and ensuring improved service and lead times to the customer groups in each division while keeping a cost competitiveness advantage
  • You have the responsibility to establish and continuously develop the APAC logistics organization (> 30 People) and talents to ensure daily smooth operations but also to ensure that APAC strategic initiatives are supported and led by your function
  • The APAC Logistics Sr Manager will be directly responsible for the APAC logistics budget and your performance will be measured through budget compliance and YoY productivity savings measured in DKK and % of net sales index and against logistics performance KPI towards divisions and customers (on-time performance, quality complaints) and 360 feedback. Having a significant team, you will be measured on the functional EMS index (Employee Motivation and Satisfaction).
  • The APAC Logistics Sr Manager has a very large range of stakeholders to manage. Internally, you will relate, influence, and collaborate within the Global Logistics matrix organization, APAC divisional stakeholders (plants, sales, SCM, CSSC) as well as key group functions (purchasing, Environment, Health and safety, Quality, GSC, finance). Working in a full matrix organization, you will need to navigate at different levels in the organization from Group management to APAC management teams and APAC execution teams. Externally, you will interact with Customers, external partners (3PL/4PL) and consultancy firms (if necessary)

  • Master\'s degree in applicable field (Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business or preferred)
  • 10+ years of logistics experience across multiple countries in APAC
  • Knowledge of logistics supply base in road, rail, ocean and air
  • Knowledge of trade and compliance processes including customs operations in APAC
  • Understanding of logistics procurement strategies and processes
  • Good knowledge of logistics finance, legal matters (contracting and obligations) and risk management.
  • Experience with delivering results (safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory, and people) in large global or Geo-based improvement activities.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Project Management Skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), able to communicate to all layers of the organization, incl. headquarters.
  • Understanding of Lean problem-solving principles
