We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, ASP WPB Strategic Growth.

Principal Responsibilities

Chief of Staff

  • Organise and lead Chief of Staff activities, e.g. ExCo offsites / meetings; and coordinate or directly draft the creation of other Regional / Group governance forums papers (e.g. CPM, QBR, Market Check-ins), strategic thematic papers, governance and other strategic performance dashboards; liaising with the various business functions and ensuring the supporting materials are reviewed and aligned with overall Group/Market/and/or HBAP messages and strategic direction
  • Develop, maintain, and report the scorecard for the WPB South Asia Head
  • Conduct research on market insights and competitor benchmarking
  • Cultivate relationships with business partners across local / Regional / Group as point of liaison
  • Lead and coach other members of the Chief of Staff
  • Ability to work within agreed scope independently
  • Building a network within WPB to operate effectively in role
Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)
  • Demonstrate leadership on Regulatory & Compliance matters. Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with section B.1.2 of the Group Operations FIM
Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)
  • Maintain and observe HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators. Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Regional Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, and optimising relations with regulators

  • Possess a strong background in the financial services industry, with a sound understanding of WPB product areas
  • Possess strong collaboration and persuasive skills required to influence, work effectively with different senior stakeholders
  • Possess analytical skills, capacity to process complex information and synthesise key themes and issues
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to navigate and deliver results in a matrixed organisation while fostering relationships with stakeholders
  • Be customer centric with product / proposition know-how
  • Be able to approach ambiguous problems strategically and translate concept into actionable plans to drive business results
  • Design thinking / ideation workshop facilitation skills will be an advantage
