The position holder will be an exceptional individual with proven talent to be part of a strategic Commercial team based in Singapore. You will work within an established business with rapid growth and expansion plans across Singapore. This role will assist the Singapore business (a high performing Country within the APAC region) with its aggressive growth plans.

As the Assistant Director/Senior Manager for Commercial Finance and Pricing, you will be involved in various commercial and pricing activities for the business, and will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Business Development, Strategic Client Procurement, and Business Units to support business growth.

You will be responsible to develop and execute commercial pricing strategies for business growth, whilst identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency. You will collaborate with internal partners to build and execute commercial pricing strategies aligned to corporate objectives, and external business partners to ensure commercial needs are addressed while fostering a customer-centric approach to solving issues.

Other responsibilities include ensuring compliance to company policies, procedures and regulations. You will provide leadership for building and implementing commercial pricing strategies, processes, and policy. What you will do: 1) Pricing / Financial

  • Review tender documents highlighting clients’ requirements which have risk and price implications when bidding new businesses/contract renewals;
  • Work closely with Bid Managers to lead the end-to-end bid process by identifying and coordinating important milestones with key stakeholders; challenging assumptions relating to manpower solutioning, subcontractors’ scope and engagement; and technology deployment to strengthen the pricing structure to reach the final solution;
  • Propose a strategic approach, prepare relevant documentation and successfully negotiate (where required) the best commercial outcome in favour of the company;
  • Identify commercial risks and provide pricing inputs for risk assessment as appropriate;
  • Review competitiveness of subcontractors’ costs, manpower costs, mobilization and any other costs;
  • Ensure subcontractors’ costs are accurately included in the pricing template;
  • Work out pricing using internal template including producing multiple pricing permutations, if need be to support approval process;
  • Perform and review price segregation on client’s pricing template before final submission;
  • Identify & propose solutions to maximise financial value from existing operational contracts;
  • Support Business Units and internal stakeholders with the preparation of valuations and variations related to existing contracts;
  • Ensure stakeholders adhere to and understand contractual obligations to prevent the violation of regulations.
2) Data Analytics
  • Develop a repository to capture and manage key data to analyse existing business performance and identify key trends to facilitate sound decision making and financial efficiency;
  • Conduct trend analysis (such as tender price trend, vendors’ price trend, inflationary trend) and develop strategic solutions drawn from analysis prepared by self and others to make meaningful recommendations;
  • Develop financial/pricing models and prepare cashflow forecasts, as required to advise strategic business directions and improve operational excellence;
  • Develop a rate card and pricing benchmarks to facilitate preliminary price valuations for new business opportunities to support “Go/No Go” decision;
  • Develop tailored pricing strategies to establish target ‘win’ price for business opportunities;
  • Use industry benchmarks as well as data on existing client accounts to establish pricing benchmarks for new or renewal bids;
  • Develop and execute a tailored commercial strategy and approach for each bid;
  • Analyse the pricing provided by key vendors are competitive;
  • Use data to assess the competitive level of bids and probability of win;
  • Conduct post-bid competitors’ pricing analysis;
  • Proactively develop, execute and refine commercial modelling and pricing tools;
  • Implement consistent processes, tools and forms as per APAC guidelines.
3) Reporting and Presentation
  • Prepare reports and presentation document for internal and external use to support bidding and the development of business growth plans.
4) Perform other related duties as required or requested. You are:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (Chartered preferred), Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, Accounting, Finance or other related business domains, or certified professional
  • Minimum 5 years Commercial Management (Pricing) / Quantity Surveying experience in similar capacity, with industry exposure to Real Estate, Facilities Management, Engineering Consultancy, Design or Construction.
  • Must have expert financial modelling and trend analysis skills, analytical and quantitative expertise, with proven experience in developing strategic solutions
  • A good understanding of both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ services in Facilities Management to ensure subcontractor pricing can be validated
  • Strong critical thinking to comprehend, analyse, interpret complex business documents to extract key data and information, with an ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
  • Ability to prepare cashflow forecasts, analyze financial data, and (where necessary) prepare financial reports, financial statements and projections and other financial information.
  • Must have attention to detail and ability for ensuring data accuracy
  • Highly collaborative and an excellent business partner with strong skills in communication, project management and relationship building, with a proven ability to effectively and positively interact cross-functionally.
  • Must have MS Office tools (inc Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and have advanced MS Excel and Power BI (or similar) skills
  • Effective time management with the ability to work under extreme tight timeline if need be
  • Highly adaptable and resilient, thriving on changes and challenges
