Job Description




Provide administrative leadership and direction in the formulation and execution of policies, procedures and initiatives to support the strategic directions in Signature Research Programme in Health Services & Systems Research (HSSR). The job duties will include but not limited to the following:
  • Work with the Head of HSSR to ensure programmes and initiatives are accomplished in an effective and efficient manner while adhering to all legislative, policy and procedural guidelines.
  • Work closely with faculty and researchers as well as with other departments on matters such as grants, contracts, agreements, systems and data management.
  • Manage the entire financial spectrum of the Programme by analysing operational needs, projected revenue and expenses both short and long term, as well as managing procurement matters, developing project budgets for grant proposals and putting out tenders and “Invitation To Quotes” (ITQs).
  • Support and facilitate research collaborations with partners across Academic Medical Centre, academia, industry and national government.
  • Oversee multiple projects and events such as conferences, workshops and forums through monitoring progress and keeping track of timelines, and preparing analytical reports on progress of key performance indicators and outcomes of the Programme.
  • Supervise and coordinate work of designated staff on supporting the business functions of the Programme, including managing the various aspects of human resource matters and requirements.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work or as assigned by the Programme.

Job Requirement


  • Bachelor or Master's degree or equivalent in Science, Business or Social Sciences. A master degree in a related discipline will be preferable.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience with at least 6 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Prior work experience in a research or academic environment would be advantageous.
  • Competent in applying general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination of major administrative functions.
  • Able to lead a team, prioritise and multi-task with strong interpersonal skills and decision making acumen.
  • Proficient in general software applications that facilitate work operations.
  • Familiarity with SAP and content management systems would be advantageous.
