The Senior Manager, Platform Architecture is a senior management role, responsible for overseeing the deployment of platforms in line with the architectural blueprints and business plans.
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the collaboration across technology groups and business units to contribute to the integration, enhancement and general direction for technology platforms used within the organization.
The objective is to ensure the optimal functioning of the platforms and achieve Managed Services Sales initiatives and targets and manages the creation of complex platforms, related automation and the corresponding business changes needed to enable sustainable platform operations aligned to client need.
This is a people management role, responsible for fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture, focused on operational excellence.
Key responsibilities:

• Serves as a trusted advisor on optimal platform designs and the strategy that will meet client and business requirements.
• Uses client and business requirements to advise on the design, deployment and operations of platforms.
• Oversees the management of Managed Services solution technical design aligned with organizational capabilities.
• Required to specialize in a specific platform and to integrate this expertise with holistic platform architecture knowledge which may include collaboratively designing key components of the platform.
• Manages the development of complex solutions that adhere to functional and non-functional requirements (including usability, reliability, performance, supportability and security).
• Defines architecture and standards for complex platform infrastructures and drives continual improvement in processes.
• Drives identification, assessment and communication of next generation platform architecture trends and conduct research in terms of best practice platform technology and trends.
• Guides the Platform Architecture procedures and policies to align to overall organization strategy.
• Ensures and drives strong integration with all relevant technology and business stakeholders to enable the highest quality platform architecture requirements.
• Maintains the technical architecture associated with the underlying platform infrastructure and integration to back-end systems.
• Manages the implementation of strategies and solutions that define meta-architectural designs for complex solutions that will address issues such as styles, concepts, mechanisms, modularity, scalability and principles that combine to formulate the architectural vision for a specific environment.
• Manages the implementation the infrastructure strategy for platform design, integration and interoperability.
• Interacts with vendors as required to obtain full knowledge of vendor roadmaps, new developments and new product offerings.
• Takes responsibility for the operational management of a platform architecture team.

• Extended understanding of technical applications, infrastructure, integration architectures, Managed Service Platform, cloud architectures, data and security integration practices, and devops.
• Extended ability to lead technical design workshops with the client and business stakeholders.
• Extended ability to design, manage and close a technical proof of concept on a vendor product.
• Extended knowledge as an architect in technical architectures, Managed Service Platform, cloud architectures, integration practices, and devops (for example, applications, data center, cloud, network, collaboration).
• Extended expertise and sound knowledge of platform design best practice, including operation of platforms.

Academic qualifications and certifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field.
• Certification and working knowledge of Cloud Architect Azure, AWS, CGP is preferred.
• Certification and working knowledge in Microservices (Principle, Patterns both greenfield and brownfield), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Access Integration (EAI) and Integration Patterns preferred.
• Certification and working knowledge with Cloud, Data Centre, Applications platform integrations, RESTful APIs, including JSON, XML and SOAP protocols is preferred.
• Certification and working knowledge with Software Development Lifecycle and tools, SAFe/Scrum/Agile methodology is preferred.

Experience required:

• Extended track record in the area of business analysis and platform architecture.
• Extended experience with Service/Application/Infrastructure and Cloud Architectures, Microservice (Principle, Patterns both greenfield and brownfield), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Access Integration (EAI) and Integration Patterns.
• Extended experience with Cloud, Data Centre, Applications platform integrations, RESTful APIs, including JSON, XML and SOAP protocols.
• Extended experience with Software Development Lifecycle and tools, SAFe/Scrum/Agile methodology.
• Extended demonstrated experience in and with all operational aspects of a Services business, preferably within a global technology Services organization.
• Extended experience in the process of developing and implementing new services and systems.
• Extended experience with SAFe/Scrum/Agile methodology (scale agile framework enterprise).
• Extended experience leading and managing technical architecture teams.
