The Opportunity
The Investment Manager reports into the Head of Investment and will be responsible for support in all investment/trading functions which include holistic investment management & deals, managing buying pitches, managing client buying performance accountability & supporting Orion (Capital & Barter trading entity of IPG Mediabrands).

Holistic investment management & deals

  • Provide support to robust investment planning function covering all investments across agencies & clients in Mediabrands Singapore which can help to maximize value for local clients and Mediabrands, through investment optimization & holistic partnership deals with media partners
  • Actively support & influence Orion (capital & barter trading) in terms of demand analysis, deals tracking & liaising with agencies to maximize Orion usage
  • Support agencies in their deals and other requirement with media owners
  • Effectively manage media owner relationships and update agencies on all new media owner developments & offerings regularly
Managing Buying Pitches
  • Support all buying pitches or buying part of full pitches for all local pitches along with the local pitch team & local part of regional/global pitches along with the regional Magna team
  • Help create winning buying proposals/submissions through smart data analysis, market intelligence, robust benchmarking, rigorous optimizations & speculative negotiations
  • Liaising with pitch team for local pitches & with regional Magna team for regional/global pitches
Client buying performance accountability
  • Supporting client buying performance accountability function across key clients in Singapore which is to ensure we meet all our pricing/buying commitments to clients. This process involves contribution in setting up buying performance targets, helping core client teams to achieve the buying performance targets, tracking & reporting to the local clients directly & to regional Magna team in case of regional accountability clients (as applicable).
  • Maximize on the incentives potential associated with achieving & exceeding the buying performance targets (Incentives against Savings, Pricing, Value management or any other buying performance metric) & AVOID PENALTIES associated with not achieving the buying performance targets (if applicable)
  • Provide effective support in case of auditor\'s involvement in the process - to local client teams & to regional Magna team for Singapore part of regional/global clients
Data management
  • Creation and management of pricing benchmarks in the market (through internal & external data)
  • Support Magna Global Intelligence data collection & validation process, as & when needed
Ideally
  • Vast experience in an international media agency in planning, planning led buying function, Optimizations & negotiations
  • Experience in media planning led buying strategies across offline & online media
  • Good data management & analytical skills
  • Strong optimization skills
  • Understanding of the buying/ trading environment
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good at media maths & well verse with key media planning / buying metrics across print, broadcast & digital media (e.g. GRPs, Reach, Frequency, CPRPs, CPMs, CPC etc)
  • Focused with excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative nature
  • Accountable and results driven
  • Analytical, diligent, excellent attention to detail
  • Relationship with local media partners would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of programmatic buying would be an added advantage
