Primary Function of Position

This role will define, build, and execute strategy and tactics targeting Asia hospital and care team leaders. The objective will be to develop the market towards multi-system installations and digital/data product integration into the existing hospital accounts. This role will focus on understanding Asian hospital executives\' objectives, motivations, and concerns with respect to surgical programs, and will align Intuitive\'s ecosystem of products, training, and services to match their needs. This role will aim to advance the understanding and belief of Hospital leaders and garner their commitment to establish/expand their da Vinci programs by adding more systems, more specialties and integrating Intuitive\'s digital and data ecosystem products. This role will require close collaboration and alignment with Asia country GMs, sales, and marketing teams as well as corporate enabling functions.

Lead, develop, and implement value-based solutions, key programs, and channel strategies that promote measurable and meaningful value for da Vinci surgery amongst surgeons, hospitals, and health systems. Intuitive is looking for a commercial leader, experienced in hospital marketing strategy, value messaging, and customer analytics to evangelize the country\'s marketing and sales organizations and external customers.

In this customer-facing capacity, this person will partner across the organization to strategically align and execute marketing plans that drive a cohesive surgeon/hospital value story and build personalized, data-driven proof points.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Seek to understand the objectives, motivations, and concerns of hospital leaders in Asia across key segments.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop Asia-specific messages and value communication assets intended for different hospital leader personas to increase their dV ecosystem appreciation and adoption.
  • Collaborate with country marketing and sales teams in the scalable execution of regional and local tactics including Hospital Executive KOL development, reference stories, and hospital executive events via in-person and digital channels.
  • Coordinate Corporate Hospital Marketing, Asia MACA, GAVE, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal and Public Affairs teams in exploration, definition, creation, and dissemination of analytics and databased stories (ex: QTI, CHA, BAM) for hospital and care team leaders.
  • Collaborate with select sales leaders in Asia to engage the top 10% Tier 1 accounts in Japan, China, and Korea for the purposes of discovery, development, and implementation activities to increase the adoption of Intuitive products.
  • In partnership with select clinical and capital sales teams in Asia, build messages and solutions against competitive challenges to distinguish Intuitive and da Vinci brand value from competitors.
  • Engage third-party channels to spread Intuitive and dV brand and value messages to hospital audiences.
  • Capture voice-of-customer (VOC) from Asia hospital leaders and stay abreast of hospital industry and digital healthcare trends in Asia. Communicate this VOC and hospital trends to corporate teams to shape up future Asia product, education, service, or data analytics offerings within the dV ecosystem
  • Lead deep dives into the understanding of hospital stakeholders (executives, care team, marketing, and finance leadership) and customer journey mapping.
  • Lead deep dives into the understanding of customer insight and hospital segment perspectives on the clinical and economic value of da Vinci Surgery.
  • Support the development of hospital audience Key Opinion Leaders to educate others on the value of Intuitive\'s product offering and ecosystem
  • Build, optimize, and scale global Quantify the Impact (QTI) strategies to expose economic and clinical impact, program optimization, and market expansion opportunities for key customers including surgeons, hospitals administrators, and health system executives
  • Partner with country marketing partners to implement value messaging and proof points at key conferences, including robotics symposia, executive sessions, epicenter case observations, booth presence, and webinars
  • Partner with the Training department to identify and support the development of new training programs to standardize and enhance the ability of the sales force to Quantify the Impact of da Vinci\xc2\xae Surgery and execute business alignment meetings.
  • Collaborate with the market research function to carry out customer market research and provide appropriate insight to the sales force and customers
Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor\'s degree in life science or business discipline. MS, MBA, or higher degrees preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of marketing and/or business management experience in a therapeutic medical device, surgical, or pharma company is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with hospital executives, administrators, and decision-support functions within hospitals and health systems is required.
  • Strong record of accomplishment of collaborating within a highly matrixed organization where business partners span commercial and operations functions in different countries.
  • Proven advocacy ability to effectively position and message products or services internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability for strategic and creative thinking in planning, execution, and overcoming barriers to differentiate against competitors and alternative procedures.
  • Strong presence and engagement of others demonstrating sound reasoning and concise communication as a storyteller.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of execution against quarterly and annual plans and demonstrating success in driving customer awareness and adoption. A self-starter.
  • Familiarity with health economics/hospital finance fundamental
  • Proven ability to effectively position and message products/procedures and develop strong sales support to drive product/procedure adoption.
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively amidst competing priorities to deliver high-impact marketing programs on-time and within budget to support overall marketing strategy and business objectives.
  • Proven ability to solve open-ended problems and work cross-functionally to implement initiatives.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% within Asia and to/from US .
