The Role Responsibilities
Business

  • Provide business support to other stake holders in the explanation and breakdown of simulated ECL results
  • Interface with internal and external audit, as well as group and local regulators to demonstrate governance around the ECL calculation process.
Processes
  • Oversee the data extraction, calculation and write-back processes in the monthly ECL production run. Ensure that the process operates within the requirements as laid out in the various governance frameworks.
  • Oversee the results of credit parameters and ECL computation and provide support to make contingency adjustments, issue analysis and the trigger re-runs should there be any compromise of performance.
  • Ensure significant deterioration assessment and stage transfer of assets are performed appropriately on a timely basis.
  • Review the computed ECL results and provide business support to explain key drivers and trends to Country and Group reviewers
  • Facilitate GSAM reviews and the inclusion of the adjustments proposed by countries in the calculation for consolidated reporting purposes.
  • Provide assurance that review and adjustments proposed by countries and performed by Group, on the calculation for consolidated reporting purposes, have been subjected to a four-eye check process where justification for adjustments is provided.
  • Maintain implemented model templates, calculation flows and business rules on the SPLICE model implementation platform. Work closely with the model development and IT teams to perform enhancements to the above to address model refreshes, new model implementations and requirements.
  • Perform ECL simulation runs for the purpose of ECL stress testing. Perform forecasting of the ECL for CIC and Retail applying methodologies to forecast total ECL and ECL variables.
  • Perform What if analysis – stressing variables and running the scenarios, making changes in business rules, testing new IFRS9 models in challenger mode.

  • Post graduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Risk Management
  • Strong analytical and conceptualisation skills
  • Good team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders from different functions

  • Focused and organised, with ability to prioritise and deliver to strict deadlines

Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Hands on experience in Wholesale and/or Retail banking products
  • SAS programming skills applied in a regulatory risk context
  • Hands on experience in IFRS 9 Impairment requirements
  • Experience with SAS Model Implementation Platform
  • 9+ Years of experience in Credit Risk modelling / model implementation
