The Role Responsibilities
Strategy

T&I power's Standard Chartered Bank's vision and strategic agenda through the provision of innovative, secure and efficient IT solutions; we will deliver greater value to our business stakeholders; we will improve the skills and flexibility of our people and work more effectively with our internal and vendor service partners.
Technology
  • Manage Technology Resilience Assessments; Resilient Design, Operational and Service Management processes; technical architecture, data resilience and testing activities
  • Drive the Resilience Assessment agenda by participating in design reviews conducted by the Architecture team against Resilience standards
  • Support and collaborate on development of ongoing cyber recovery test facility
  • Deliver the Chaos Engineering book of work
  • To develop and drive process analytics capability to provide single source of truth information pertaining to process maturity and risk management.
Processes
Resilience management includes planning, integrating, testing and governing activities to ensure that the group can
  • Identify and mitigate business and system disruption risks that could lead to before they occur
  • Prepare for and respond to disruptive events (realized risks) in a manner that demonstrates command and control of incident response and crises, coordination and service continuity. Disruptive events may be specific to the groups top/ principle risks which include Major Systems Failure, Information Cyber Security or Significant Business Interruption i.e. Cyber Security Incidents, Technology/Systems Outage, People or Process Failures.
  • Recover and restore mission-critical services and operations within agreed risk tolerance
Risk Management
  • Work with Risk & Control to ensure all potential/identified risks arising are managed.
  • Pro-actively manage the domain operational risk profile and assist in managing risk related issues

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10 years of experience in Resilience & Recovery Technology and Platforms (Platform, Databases, Data Centre, Storage, Middleware & Web)
  • Strong understanding of SRE and Chaos Engineering practises
  • Strong Technical background having experience in Distributed technologies.
  • Good understanding of Cloud and Kubernetes platforms
  • AWS or Azure Architecture
  • Kubernetes or OpenShift Administration
  • Strong data analysis and representation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent required
  • Structured decision making and Superior problem-solving skills
  • Strong senior stakeholder communication and influencing skills and experience working with team members in offshore and near shore locations
  • Excellent team player with ability to communicate effectively with software engineers, infrastructure engineers, business analysts, and business managers
  • Experience financial control and reporting delivery
  • Good understanding of Project delivery methodologies - Agile, SDLC, Prince
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of ITIL (ITIL Foundation desired)
  • IT DR Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Significant experience in the field of IT Resilience, Disaster Recovery and Information Security Risk
  • Understanding of applicable Resilience Risks and BCM regulatory requirements in financial services sector
  • Knowledge of infrastructure (Platform, Database, DC, Storage, Middleware & Web)
  • Understanding and working knowledge of ITIL
  • Understanding of banking technologies and infrastructure
  • Experience of working with Tier 1 providers of service continuity and disaster recovery services
  • Experience of coordinating resources across multiple locations
  • Expert in the NIST framework, ITIL IT Service & Continuity Management process
  • Understanding of appropriate legal, industry standards and good practices for service continuity
  • Financial Services experience
