Job Description


To continue our footprint of growth in Asia Pacific (APAC), Hilton is looking to expand aggressively in the focused service space, starting with Greater China & Mongolia (GCM) and followed by other markets in APAC, via a franchising proposition. To support this growth as well as the growth of our managed estate, we are looking to hire a leader who can partner with the business to develop Hilton\'s most important asset, our Team Members.

The Senior Manager, Learning - APAC, will be responsible for looking at strategies in implementing viable learning options for our leaders in the focused service estate within the scope of the HGI franchise business in GCM and the rest of APAC. In addition, this person will be responsible for the governance of the learner experience of our APAC team members by working in alignment with global partners of Learning Experience (LX) & Delivery. This person will collaborate on the custom content management function, manage the Extended Learning Network strategy for APAC, contribute as a key member of virtual instructor led training (VILT) strategy and implementation team, and drive effectiveness and efficiencies.

What will I be doing?

As the Senior Manager, Learning - APAC, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Understand the learning strategies of competitors that are delivered to senior leaders (GMs) in the focused service franchise landscape in different markets, especially GCM, in order to position Hilton to be competitive in attracting and upskilling talent
  • Work with the various stakeholders of the business to identify the technical and operational learning needs / gaps required of GMs in the new APAC HGI single-unit franchising model
  • Work with global colleagues in the Learning Experience function, as well as with the Senior Director, Learning, Talent and Leadership Development function (APAC) to scope out relevant content, build out and ultimately roll out an efficient, effective and best in class GM Skills Bootcamp for GCM
  • Act as a key intermediary between APAC business learning needs and global learning priorities and alignment
  • Identify (in the future, when the need arises) potential partners in relevant markets who can provide basic hospitality skills
  • Work with relevant global and regional partners to ensure the proper roll-out of the Hospitality Foundations initiative that is aligned with the Purpose Platform
  • Work with the Learning Experience function on organizational strategy, VILT logistics and innovation, continuing to drive our Hilton Learning Strategy forward
  • Leverage custom content management expertise from the global centralized functions (Brand Learning / Learning Experience Teams) on program sustainability, content relevance and changes, whilst making sure of their relevance for the markets in APAC
  • Align with global LX governance process in partnership with global Learning Managers including but not limited to scheduling, coordination, delivery, and production processes and procedures, in order to ensure the best use of resources to support programs across all regions
  • Measure workforce effectiveness and efficiency to ensure proper alignment of learning resources to the business / organizational needs
  • Partner with global LX functions on the coordination of regional programs and governance, delivery of brand, sales and corporate programs
  • Re-start the Extended Learning Network in APAC across our key programs, working with global Learning Teams to standardize onboarding reimbursement and rewards
  • Raise the overall standards for VILT delivery to further improve Net Promotion Score (NPS)
Additionally, you will:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on learner experience, trends in learning approaches, and building processes
  • Develop own personal development plan to ensure learning professional competencies
  • Manage own schedule, travel, and expenses
  • Work within and manage departmental budget
  • Perform other activities, as requested

  • Problem solving skills to find solutions effectively and creatively for hard problems while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Expertise with virtual and in person facilitation, scheduling, process implementation, and working in matrixed environments
Technical Skills Desired
  • Virtual Platform Knowledge: WebEx, Zoom, MS Teams, Adobe Connect
  • Sharing Platform Knowledge: DropBox, Box, Microsoft One Drive, Google Docs
  • Microsoft Office Knowledge: PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • LMS Experience: Oracle or similar
To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
  • 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience including the below
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Three (3) years of learning and development experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including the ability to understand, create and manipulate basic presentations, spreadsheets, and documents
  • Mandarin language proficiency (written and verbal) to support GCM
  • Able to travel when required

  • BA / BS or MS / MA Master\'s Degree
  • Regional or global work experience
