Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa\'s consulting division, serving Visa\'s clients including card issuers, acquirers and merchants. We are focused on improving our clients\' performance and profitability.

Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact projects and tangible financial results. In Asia Pacific (AP), VCA is organized in a combination of market-based teams together with a regional Hub team that provides expertise in specific industry or functional domains (Digital, Risk, Commercial & Money Movement Solutions (CMS), Acquiring and Issuer Optimization) and comprises of a team of consultants and data scientists.

What a Senior Manager in the CMS Practice does at Visa:

Reporting to the CMS Practice Lead and based in Singapore, you will support and deliver projects across the Asia Pacific region and work on consulting engagements for Visa clients in enabling portfolio growth and improved profitability of their businesses across the segments of small business, large and middle market and government.

Working with the CMS Practice Lead, the Senior Manager will be responsible for significant components of client engagements, and in some cases end-to end-delivery of client engagements. Typically, this will involve the Senior Manager interacting with the client team, gathering and managing project inputs, analyzing data to form conclusions and recommendations, developing and presenting compelling project reports and working with clients to execute recommendations.

Projects you will be a part of:

Typically, running in parallel, potential projects could include digital payments strategy, product design and launch, portfolio diagnostics (end-to-end business reviews) and benchmarking and optimizing processes through the sharing and implementation of global best practices. The practice supports market teams across the Asia Pacific region which provides a diverse and interesting set of challenges and opportunities to work with.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting the CMS Practice in identifying clients\' business pain-points and areas for strategy and process improvement, thereby defining project scope, deliverables and revenue opportunity to sell-in client engagement projects. This will include:

Preparing client proposals and project plans, identifying dependencies, roles and responsibilities, scope and deliverables

Ensuring project engagements remain on track, utilizing governance frameworks and mitigating / resolving complex problems that emerge during engagements

Preparing project materials including interview guides, data requirements, concepts, frameworks

Undertaking client interviewing, collecting and analysing inputs such as client information, data, processes, policies, competitive and environmental information

Conducting industry research, drawing on Visa and partner resources as well as colleagues to identify global best practices and distil insights relevant to the client problem at hand

Create, develop and maintain service line solutions, contribute to IP creation and standardized VCA offerings

Continuously build knowledge, surfacing new insights and producing thought leadership pieces that contribute to practice development

Identify solutions and recommendations that address client objectives and result in performance improvement

Create compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly

Recommend approaches to clients, providing guidance and at times physically supporting implementation at the client site

Partner with market based VGS and VCA teams, client account executives (AEs) and other relevant Product and Solutions teams to gain insights and support client engagement and execution

The senior manager will also support the broader commercial and money movement practice as required

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have already accumulated some consulting experience and will be curious about the payments industry and motivated to work and learn alongside a talented and experienced team and expand their knowledge and experience.
You will be client driven, comfortable managing a project end-to-end and relishing the opportunity to work closely with clients to influence their future performance.
Essential skill set and experience required:

  • Minimum 10-12 years relevant experience in consulting, corporate strategy
  • Experience covering/working in financial services and payments/banking
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Strong team orientation, collaborative, flexible, able to work effectively in a matrixed organization and enjoys learning through new challenges
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and have the ability to progress multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience in and a keen interest for the power of analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactics, and proven ability to generate insights from qualitative and quantitative data (storyteller)
  • Experience working with FinTechs and other innovative partnerships will be highly valued
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in working on business/value cases that prove ROI
  • Strong detail orientation, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in reports and data analysis
  • Strong undergraduate academic accomplishment
