Job Description


What the role is:You will play a critical role to support the development of strategies and services in mental health care and promote social-health integration in these areas, in support of the implementation of the National Mental Health and Well-being Strategy. You will also support longer term strategic planning for the mental health ecosystem of the future by developing future care models and system designs. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:To develop an effective mental health ecosystem, you will support the Office to implement the National Mental Health and Well-being Strategy in the following areas but not limited to: (1) Coordinate and oversee Whole-of Government efforts on mental health, conduct longer term planning and set strategic directions, conduct research to plan for future care models and system designs. (2) Develop mental health policies and services across healthcare, social and other related sectors. (3) Oversee and support legislation work related to mental health.What we are looking for:

  • Relevant tertiary education in healthcare, public health or related field, preferably psychology or allied health or life science \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum five years related working experience in psychology, nursing/allied health, social services are desired. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good communication and inter-personal skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Need to be able to work independently as well as in a team. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good skills in analytical thinking, writing and presentation, coordination and logistical arrangements. Key Competencies Require \xe2\x80\xa2 Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Possesses the drive and curiosity to learn and apply new skills, knowledge and new ways of working. \xe2\x80\xa2 Improving & Innovating - Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved. \xe2\x80\xa2 Working Effectively with Stakeholders - Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose. \xe2\x80\xa2 Serving with Heart, Commitment and Purpose - Ability to commit to the work scope to deliver on agency and whole-of-government outcomes. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
