About the Role: As the Physical Security & Crisis Management Senior Manager, you will act as the APAC Regional Leader for Wiley's Physical Security and Crisis Management programs. You will assist with the implementation of the overall Physical Security and Crisis Management strategies while utilizing industry standards, ISO, and best practices to mitigate risks effectively and safeguard our colleagues, visitors, offices, brand, technology, and assets in APAC. Under the Physical Security role: The Senior Manager will oversee all regional investigations, life safety, access card management, CCTV, executive protection planning, event security planning, contract security-related service providers, security system integration, APAC Physical Security, APAC Crisis Management budgets, and onboarding process. This role will include physical security operations, emergency evacuation, and internal & external thefts. Investigate matters of malfeasance within company guidelines established by the People Organization, Legal, Finance, Enterprise Security, and other associated departments. Manage all third-party APAC security contractors hired to provide exceptional security or emergency preparedness services, life safety systems, and security maintenance within the region. Liaise with the landlords and government organizations to be sure such communities understand Wiley's emergency needs. Manage the Fire Emergency Evacuation Teams and assist the Director of CH&S with Medical Response Teams throughout the APAC. Conduct investigations with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Agencies, theft, and other security-related investigations as directed. Conduct Risk Assessments and Risk Analyses for existing and prospective areas of expansion. Perform additional security-related duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Global Physical Security Under the Crisis Management role: The Senior Manager will work closely with the VP of Global Crisis and Business Resilience and other cross-functional teams to help mitigate business interruption, safeguard colleagues, and protect offices and assets. The Senior Manager will serve as a functional expert and leader on the APAC Crisis Management Team (APAC CMT). This role will also direct crisis management response coordination to identify and recover capabilities when disruptions occur to business activities promptly and effectively. They will conduct the APAC CMT Meetings with critical regional stakeholders and foster partnerships and alignment of crucial program initiatives. Together with the APAC CMT, the role will develop and implement the crisis management methodology and drive continuous improvement of the crisis management process. Perform additional crisis management-related duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Global Physical Security and the Global Crisis Manager. How you will make an impact: Regional owner for Wiley's APAC Physical Security Programs including facilities, internal/external investigations, and access card system for all locations across APAC. Manage the integration of the Access Card Management System with Wiley's Workday tool to optimize the onboarding process and provide the highest level of card access security and accountability. Instruct and guide Wiley's security policies, protocols, and procedures utilizing industry standards, ISO, and best practices. Manage Wiley's comprehensive security, evacuation, and related plans, tools, and organization, reflecting best practices and appropriateness for Wiley and its staff throughout APAC. Keep abreast of developing security threats and mitigate risk exposure. Manage fire/evacuation team training, tools, and communications program. Maintain a schedule of each location's fire drills and ensure compliance with building landlords throughout the Wiley portfolio in APAC Develop and manage inventories and procedures for regularly inspecting all life-safety equipment in Wiley space, such as pre-action sprinklers, fire strobes/speakers, extinguishers, flashlights, and other required items. Develop best practices for theft investigation and reporting in coordination with the local governing authority. Establish and oversee all metrics, KPI's and KRI's. Initiate immediate action during significant events of various sizes and scales of impact (hurricane, social unrest, pandemic) by supporting business notification, incident response calls, and business units during large-scale regional crisis events. Understands and applies internal policies, standards, procedures, and industry best practices concerning Crisis Management incidents and crisis response. Lead regional crisis management response coordination to identify and recover capabilities when disruptions occur to business activities promptly and effectively. Track data and report APAC crisis management service levels and internal client satisfaction/feedback periodically. Perform other crisis management duties and projects as assigned by the Director, Global Physical Security. What we look for: Bachelors or completion of Higher Education / University in areas such as Communications, Management, Writing, Business, or Criminal Justice. 15+ years with a successful track record in the Private Sector Security Services Or 10 years Private sector security/10 years of Federal, State, or Local Law Enforcement experience Or 10 years Officer or NCO or the equivalent in the military police or other policing investigative division. 5 years of Crisis Management. Experience in a management role. Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Manager, and Teams). Experience with Access Card Management Systems, CCTV Management Systems and Notification Platform Systems. Intelligence/Event Platform experience. Investigation experience. Security Operations Management experience. Budget Forecasting / Project Budget. Experience engaging with senior-level internal and external business executives. Knowledge of Physical Security, Safety, Crisis Management, Emergency Preparedness, and response. Knowledge of multi-tenant, high-rise office security and facilities operations. Knowledge of Law Enforcement procedures. Good knowledge of report writing. Willing to work flexibly and respond to after-hours emergencies 24/7 when required. Motivated to lead others not under his/her direct control. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
