  • Scanning the technical and business environment for insights and trends to identify key growth opportunities for the company that will build sustainable competitive advantages.
  • Translating organization-level strategies in Tech into actionable functional deliverables and re-allocating the business portfolio to align with market opportunities.
  • Driving decision-making and ensuring major initiatives are coherent with the company\'s and Technology team\'s strategic direction.
  • Sustaining the momentum of strategy execution and instilling organizational discipline to realize commitments to strategic plans
The Day-to-Day Activities:
  • Develop and/or update the company\'s technology strategies on a regular cadence, including identifying and prioritizing major cross-functional initiatives by synthesizing:
  • Internal business performance and technical competencies
  • External trends (technological, market, customer, competitor, regulatory, etc.)
  • Provide inputs and advise the Co-Founders and Tech Sr. Leadership team on critical issues (e.g. strategic initiatives, BU-level plans, and major investments) based on clear issue framing, systems-level thinking, and rigorous analyses
  • Bridge business opportunities with product development via a keen grasp of the business imperatives and a clear understanding of the possibilities and/or limitations of technology
  • Lead the incubation of experimental business opportunities, including the development of baseline capabilities, the definition of the parameters of success, and ensuring a smooth transition to operations Support Tech leaders on Team-level strategy and facilitate cross-pollination of best practices and approaches
  • Align company organizational structure to achieve strategic objectives including identification of internal capabilities to be developed or strengthened
  • Execute the tech planning rhythm to ensure follow-through of the functional deliverables via discussions, updates, and action-tracking (e.g. alignment with senior Tech leadership on Tech-wide Objectives and Key Results, including metrics, target setting, and reporting)
  • Communicate company Tech vision to stakeholders and support translation into operational reality via various channels (e.g. Co-Founders communications, engagements with senior Tech stakeholders, etc.)
  • Assess proposals for all major initiatives to ensure judicious investment of company resources in line with strategic direction
  • Advocate focus on achieving sustainable growth by working with BU leads to design and refine pricing and incentives schemes
  • Actively and independently engage with company senior executives to identify new opportunities and to seek alignment on strategic priorities
  • Influence a high-performance company culture by challenging critical business assumptions and encouraging cross-functional collaboration
  • Drive coherence across functions and business units in order to achieve strategic objectives, including product, engineering, operations, and partnerships functions
  • Provide a sounding board to company senior tech executives by helping to frame initiatives against wider company tech objectives and external tech/business environment
QualificationsThe Must-Haves:
  • A degree with good honors from a top-tier university in any discipline
  • Experience working in Tech organizations and part of the Product/Software Development Life Cycle
  • MBA will be an advantage
  • Experience with quantitative analysis e.g. financial modeling and data manipulation
  • Ability to construct and deliver clear presentations to senior company executives
  • Ability to look beyond individual issues to identify broader themes with wider-reaching impact
  • Experience in analyzing and quantifying complex strategic issues tied to long-term business growth
  • Superb presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in project managing complex, cross-functional projects
  • Creativity and comfortable with \'blank sheet of paper assignments
  • A natural leader who displays integrity, humility, and responsibility, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to empathize and collaborate with stakeholders across functions and at all levels of experience
  • A self-starter and independent learner who takes the initiative to challenge the status quo
  • A big-picture thinker who is detail-oriented
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • At least 6 years of experience
