What the role is:

At Strategic Planning, we drive the development and review of MCCY\'s short, medium and long-term strategies. The team also oversees the International Relations function to coordinate and execute the engagement efforts with the Ministry\'s international partners to enhance Singapore\'s standing at the international fora.

What you will be working on:

You will work as part of a team to support our international relations operations and forge partnerships with other nations and profile MCCY among international partners. You will also set up processes to inform MCCY\'s strategy development - from setting up our priorities to reporting and evaluating outcomes. The responsibilities include: \xe2\x80\xa2 Supporting international relations request by coordinating input across MCCY to advance interests of MCCY; \xe2\x80\xa2 Supporting MCCY\'s political office holders and senior management on key international relations engagements by managing courtesy calls and visits. You may be required to staff overseas trips; \xe2\x80\xa2 Developing, implementing and monitoring impactful and innovative corporate processes to effectively achieve our goals; \xe2\x80\xa2 Communicating our strategies effectively to our partners and stakeholders to encourage greater collaboration; \xe2\x80\xa2 Applying foresight methodologies to identify potential emerging issues relevant to MCCY; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Supervising and developing officer(s) that report to you to best set them up for professional success.

What we are looking for:

  • At least 4 years of experience in managing international relations preferably in the public service \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong interest in international and current affairs and is politically astute \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong writing skills and able to work across agencies and stakeholders at various levels \xe2\x80\xa2 Have the drive and curiosity to learn new skills and try new approaches for better results \xe2\x80\xa2 Comfortable with ambiguity and able to adapt quickly to new situations \xe2\x80\xa2 Keen to work and play as part of a team Shortlisted applicants will be notified within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.
