What the role is:
We are looking for resourceful and service-oriented individuals to join the Operations & Facilities Management Department which oversees the operation and maintenance of Government cemeteries, crematoria and columbaria. You will be stationed at a crematorium at Mandai and will play a key role in providing after-death care services.
What you will be working on:
You will be responsible for the following:
Lead a team to work with the existing construction and consultant team to oversee the progress of the construction works and subsequently take over the Mechanical & Electrical systems/equipment and building facilities & structures in the various construction phases.
Lead and manage a group of technical and operations staff in the safe and efficient operation of the crematorium.
Lead and manage the maintenance team of the crematorium to achieve optimal maintenance standards.
Plan and implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programmes for the crematorium facilities and equipment
Manage operations for special annual festivals such as Qing Ming
Review and monitor cremation processes to enhance productivity and service standards.
Handle and manage feedback/appeals from members of public.
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
What we are looking for:
Requirements:
At least 5 years of working experience in environmental public health, or other fields with operations or service management in a leadership position
Experience in the operations and maintenance of process plant equipment would be an advantage
Able to lead, interact and foster teamwork
Able to handle adverse situations and difficult customers
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, e.g. excel functions, creative presentations
Good problem-solving, writing & communication skills
Keen to take initiatives and carry out plans
Pay attention to the finer details
Organised and able to multi-task
Mature, independent, responsible and resourceful
Self-driven and always ready to strive for improvement
Willing to work in after-death care services environment
Able and willing to work on weekends and public holidays
