We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and a strong safety-first mindset. This role is hands-on and site-focused, requiring strong coordination skills with subcontractors, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee mechanical construction and refurbishment activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets.
Act as the main site representative for the mechanical scope, liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and inspectors.
Supervise key site activities, including:
+ Piping installation
+ Mechanical equipment installation
+ Insulation and painting works
+ Coordination with Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams
Ensure all work complies with ASME, API, JIS, and Singapore's regulatory requirements.
Lead design reviews and interface with HQ engineering teams and external contractors.
Provide regular progress updates and presentations to internal stakeholders.
Identify and resolve recurring construction issues proactively.
Daily & Monthly Duties
Plan and troubleshoot mechanical installation tasks with clients and vendors.
Review and manage technical documentation (e.g., installation procedures, FAT reports, preservation protocols).
Prepare material requisitions, evaluate technical bids, and support vendor selection.
Hire, supervise, and coordinate subcontractors and labor teams.
Conduct site meetings, inspections (bid walks, punch lists, closeouts), and monitor progress.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 10 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering within EPC projects (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction).
Strong knowledge of ASME, API, JIS codes and standards.
Proficient in CAD, simulation tools, and mechanical calculation software.
In-depth understanding of Singapore construction safety regulations and site protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Japanese to support communication with Japanese clients and HQ.
Familiarity with green building practices and sustainability standards.
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
