Senior Officer/Officer, Compliance & Regulatory Affairs

Working in association with the Head of Compliance, Asia, and the regional Compliance team to implement and monitor the local/ regional Compliance Program and work with Management to promote a culture of compliance across the organisation.
This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland\xe2\x80\x99s Fitness and Probity regime.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
\xc2\xb7 Liaising closely and directly with local regulatory authorities (MAS) and some instances with regional regulatory authorities, including Data Privacy regulators.
\xc2\xb7 Review all legislative updates (including Acts, regulations, and standards) which could impact the Company/business operations, ensuring that legal/ compliance obligations are understood by stakeholders and providing timely advice to the Management, as appropriate.
\xc2\xb7 Provide timely and accurate advice to internal stakeholders on various compliance related issues such as local regulatory obligations, financial crime queries and licensing requirements.
\xc2\xb7 Working closely with other control functions (regionally/ globally): Risk Management, Legal and Internal Audit to identify key control issues and ensure adequate control are put in place to mitigate risks to the company.
\xc2\xb7 Periodic review and update of internal policies and procedures.
\xc2\xb7 Identify gaps and provide and/or coordinate the provision of compliance training to Management and staff to address gaps/topical issues that may affect the Company and/or business operations.
More experienced candidates may be considerd for the Senior Officer role and will also act as the Data Privacy Officer for AXA XL Singapore operations, including the monitoring of the local and other relevant Data Privacy related regulations impacting AXA XL operations.
You will report to Head of Compliance, Asia.

\xc2\xb7 Qualification: Risk Management, Audit, Accountancy or Legal qualification would be an advantage
\xc2\xb7 Experience: Ideally at least 5 years; some experience in compliance/ risk related roles, preferably in the insurance/reinsurance industry; Familiarity with local (MAS) and other regional regulations across Asia Pacific
\xc2\xb7 Solid compliance experience in Company and/or Lloyd\xe2\x80\x99s markets
\xc2\xb7 Experience in a Financial Services environment
\xc2\xb7 Up to date appreciation of the technical requirements of the role
\xc2\xb7 Proven ability in identifying and analysing problems, creating good solutions, deploying sound decision making skills.
\xc2\xb7 Proven track record of knowing what it takes to provide a consistently first class customer service internally and/or externally
\xc2\xb7 Ability to build effective working relationships (internally/externally), establishing credibility amongst a wide and demanding client group
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrable evidence of interpreting & manipulating data clearly and accurately with the ability to extract & clearly articulate key points
\xc2\xb7 First class report writing skills, ability to develop and present ideas and reasoned arguments clearly and concisely to various audiences
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrates excellent communication skills, a confident and articulate presenter to internal/external audiences, exercising appropriate discretion in dealing with people from all levels of the Company
\xc2\xb7 Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous eye for identifying inconsistencies or inaccuracies in data entry or data outputs
\xc2\xb7 Able to organise self (and others if applicable) including effective scheduling, prioritisation and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines. Demonstrates a \xe2\x80\x98can do\xe2\x80\x99 attitude
\xc2\xb7 Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team
\xc2\xb7 Displays a resilient and adaptable style, track record of remaining calm in demanding circumstances, adjusting comfortably to changing conditions / priorities
\xc2\xb7 The role would suit highly driven self-starters, with a strong desire to challenge and deliver.
\xc2\xb7 Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint.
