Hands-on Operating Partner experience gained in the PE/investment sector with the ability to appreciate the perspective of a shareholder is essential/ mandatory

Added Lean and Six Sigma experience is useful. Prior management consulting and in- house operational excellence experience gained at a senior level is useful.


Our client is a highly regarded and global investment firm.

You are part of an Operating Group that plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiencies and driving strategic growth across the portfolio companies that the investment firm owns. This team is tasked to identify/addressing operational challenges, providing strategic guidance, and focuses on value creation through specific projects in partnership with the portfolio companies. In addition, this team supports talent development, culture building and developing operational capabilities.

The Role



We are seeking a

highly skilled and senior Operations Excellence Advisor/Operating Partner

to drive transformative operational improvements while leveraging strategic procurement expertise to enhance operational efficiency and profitability, across our portfolio companies. This role requires a seasoned operations excellence professional who embeds operational excellence principles and translates it to executable initiatives while obtaining the buy-in and support of the portfolio companies. The knowledge of constructing a procurement/supply chain/process and productivity improvement function will be a key skillset required of this individual.

Key Responsibilities



Operational Efficiency and Excellence:

Collaborate with portfolio companies to develop and implement operational excellence strategies that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality and operational excellence Work closely with management teams to achieve operational goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Strategic Procurement Integration:

Develop and execute strategic procurement plans that align with operational objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supply chain resilience. Collaborate with procurement teams to leverage market insights, negotiate strategic partnerships, and manage complex contracts.

Risk Management and Compliance:

Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify operational vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure all operational activities adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

Collaboration and Partnership:

Build strong relationships with portfolio company management teams to understand operational needs and provide strategic guidance. Facilitate open communication to ensure seamless integration of operational initiatives across the organization.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency, cost savings, and service quality. Prepare and present strategic operational reports to senior leadership, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.

Innovation and Best Practices:

Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in operations and procurement, such as digital transformation and sustainability initiatives. Implement and manage operational systems and tools to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience



MBA or Relevant Master's Degree

: Advanced degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

:

Around 25 years of relevant supply chain, logistics and operations excellence experience gained with large companies across the region/globe in addition to some years of operator partner experience.

Added Lean and Six Sigma experience is useful. Prior management consulting and in- house operations excellence experience gained at a senior level with large firms. Open to Operations Excellence candidates from all sectors

Prior experience working with strategic investments is requried as it demonstrates the ability to appreciate the perspective of a shareholder

.

Hands-on Experience: Has experience dealing with large operational improvement projects across different industries

to ensure credibility and acceptance of value add by the portfolio company CEO and board of director

Others

: Ability to roll up one's sleeves (despite being highly experienced/senior)

Possess deep understanding and adoption of strategic procurement/supply chain principles and their application in aligning procurement

Financial Acumen:

Solid financial skills for cost management, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ability to drive cost savings and improve profitability through operational improvements and strategic procurement initiatives.

Technology and Innovation:

Familiarity with operational and procurement software and systems, with the ability to leverage technology for process improvements. Innovative approach to adopting new operational technologies and methodologies.

Risk Management:

Proven risk management skills to assess and mitigate operational risks, ensuring business continuity.

Leadership Experience

: Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex projects

Collaboration and Partnership:

Excellent relationship-building skills (including dealing with C level and Board of Directors) to establish and maintain strong partnerships with portfolio company management teams and manage stakeholder expectations.

Communication Skills

: Clear communication with different stakeholders to align goals and strategies. Ability to influence without authority.

Cultural Adaptability:

Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural environments
