About the Role

We are seeking an impactful Solutions Manager to run the sales of our client solutions in Reinsurance to key players in the insurance ecosystem. You will have the rare opportunity to pioneer and contribute to our monetisation efforts by handling and upselling to current clients and acquiring new partners. Our insurance solutions cover varied insurance lines of business including Cyber, Automotive, Analytics, Engineering and Parametric risks. By working alongside Reinsurance\'s global teams in P&C Solutions, Underwriting, Client Management and Claims you will act as a liaison partner for all solutions activities pre and post-sales.

You enable and drive the change in the insurance environment and enthusiastically build opportunities to work with current and new insurance partners. This is an exciting role in Sales (or Client Markets) with dynamic and wide accountabilities and great impact:

Solutions Origination

Exploring & Designing with clients solutions they need

  • You will market and develop client solutions in the insurance ecosystem and assume accountability for the delivery of our Solutions financial ambition
  • You will establish, execute and regularly refine the Solutions Origination and Delivery Strategy for SID ( Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan) and be part of the Regional Solutions Leadership Team.
  • You will be the key point of contact for our clients to develop and implement insurance client solutions.
  • You will continuously ensure that evolving client requirements are captured and acted upon following your commercial mindset
  • You are driven to deploy our Solutions to solve client problems and help them to achieve their goals
  • You will build and maintain a successful network with Swiss Re\'s existing clients (C-suite, Product Development, Distribution, Innovation and Underwriting) as well as new partners across the insurance value chain.
  • You will own client deals from origination to closure including governance post sale
  • You will deliver the target revenue which will be derived from the global plan target
  • You will support the Heads of Solutions with responsibility to grow business with our Solutions offering
  • You will keep abreast of market developments and opportunities in the Solutions space
  • You will attend innovation, insurtech and industry conferences to represent the Solutions team
  • You will champion Solutions within Swiss Re and develop business cases for new offerings to originate and deliver on unmet client needs
Solutions Delivery

Oversee Delivery & Implementation of our Global & Regional Solutions in collaboration with regional and global Solutions Teams
  • You will be responsible for delivery of the Asia Solutions business pipeline in your market and oversee the collaboration between local and regional/global team members
  • You will secure resources within the global and APAC organization to deliver on client commitments and coordinate the XFT effort and foster knowledge sharing
Solutions Development

Creating new regional solutions
  • You will identify and raise unmet client needs and contribute to develop business cases building new Solutions Offerings
  • You facilitate and contribute to product development endeavors within the region, working and coordinating closely with the central Innovation team
  • You will work closely with the XFT to define the monetization approach for new regional solutions
  • You will work independently and identify market opportunities/ market partners in your target markets for enabling the sales of our solutions portfolio
About the Team

Swiss Re P&C Solutions uses Swiss Re\'s risk expertise and new technologies to help clients grow and improve profitability by developing together innovative solutions, focusing on finding new ways to reduce the protection gap. While Swiss Re has developed solutions such as using remote sensing, telematics as well as parametric approaches to name just a few, the P&C Solutions APAC team is also seeking to drive regionally developed Solutions. We aim to support our clients in addressing their strategic needs, by working together to develop solutions that ultimately will increase the size of the reinsurance market. You will closely collaborate with P&C Solutions cross-functional teams such as Client Managers, Business Development, Underwriting, Business Management, Risk Management, Communications and Marketing.

About You
  • With a good record of minimum 8 years in the insurance sector in product development, distribution, innovation, strategy, underwriting or another related function, you bring valuable insurance insights and can translate those into opportunities for client solutions
  • You maintain a good network within your local non-life (re)-insurance market
  • You are a successful sales leader and feel confident in negotiating and interacting effectively with management on all levels (C-suite). You listen, understand the clients\' needs and can bring creative ideas and solutions.
  • Working effectively within a matrix organisation delivering along agile principles
  • You are passionate about the latest developments in the wider insurance environment and follow developments to find opportunities actively with existing and prospective clients
  • You have experience in handling large deals, projects and virtual teams (track record in any of these areas an advantage: Data Analytics, Digital Distribution, Partnerships, Automotive Solutions or other Insurtech Innovation)
  • You have experienced design thinking to run co-creation with insurance partners
  • You apply consultative sales skills to create win-win situations for clients and Swiss Re
  • You enjoy working in an entrepreneurial, high performing team collaborating with colleagues both in our Singapore/ Hong Kong office as well as our regional and global teams
  • You have worked in an Individual Contributor role with targets to be achieved
  • Excellent technical knowledge in all areas of liability portfolio management (eg. experience analysis, product pricing and valuation, financial performance analysis, reserving)
  • Analytical skills, good background of systems, actuarial models and data management
  • Fundamental understanding of the Asian insurance and reinsurance industry, and knowledge of the main products and services offered by Swiss Re and its competitors
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to run workshops, seminars and large meetings.
  • Strong team ethic and ability to influence within a complex matrix
  • Fluent English and ideally comfortable in Chinese/Korean speaker
