Responsibilities

This role is to support the manufacturing and supply of GSK\xe2\x80\x99s Respiratory and General Medicines APIs in one of our key batch and continuous manufacturing facilities in Jurong to benefit patients globally.

The role includes to supervise, execute and monitor the production activities within the value stream to ensure reliable and optimal operation of processes, equipment, utility and facility so as to achieve target production levels within the framework of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), quality, safety, occupational hygiene, sustainability and environment protection.

The responsibilities include managing, motivating, developing and stretching junior production engineers to realize their full potential and build up their technical competencies.

On top of supporting the delivery of a balanced score card and KPIs in safety, quality, supply, sustainability, productivity, the role also includes leading strategic yield, cycle time, capacity, cost and other operational improvement through continuous improvement and application of digitalization and data analytics (DDA). There is also a requirement to provide end user inputs to support capital projects and new product introduction.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

A good degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemistry or other relevant fields.

At least 6 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing operations or related fields, particularly in the API manufacturing environment.

Good knowledge of manufacturing processes in the plant, including strong technical background for key process unit operations, major equipment operations, good understanding of DCS / MES system of fully automated and paperless manufacturing facilities, MERP production execution.

Good knowledge and experience in plant equipment commissioning and operational experience.

Strong analytical skills and ability to lead or support complex plant / process problem solving using appropriate problem solving tool to determine the root causes and implement CAPA to prevent recurrence.

Strong leadership in leading and cultivating continuous improvement culture

Good knowledge of GMP, data integrity compliance, regulatory expectation, safety, hygiene and environment regulations as well as good knowledge in engineering standard in process design.

Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
