What the role is:With the emergence of new diseases that can pose a severe threat to public health, it is vital to stay updated on infectious diseases, plan new control programmes, keep abreast of developments to ascertain situational risks, and maintain operational readiness. You will be involved in the development of epidemiological capability to rapidly assess and control emerging threats. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:You will assist in the formulation and implementation of evidence-based policies to control the spread of communicable diseases, and evaluate the effectiveness of disease control and pandemic preparedness strategies to protect the health of Singaporeans. You will also be required to conduct epidemiological surveillance and evaluate the effectiveness of surveillance systems, and respond to and manage disease outbreaks.What we are looking for:

• Good tertiary education in a life science discipline; or nursing background \xe2\x80\xa2 Postgraduate education in Public Health or Epidemiology or equivalent would be an advantage \xe2\x80\xa2 2-3 years\' experience in public health would be an advantage \xe2\x80\xa2 Analytical mindset \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously on different projects, and willing to work beyond office hours, especially during outbreaks \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent organisational skills and resourcefulness \xe2\x80\xa2 Good inter-personal and communication skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to continuously keep up to date on new developments in the communicable disease field Key Competencies Require \xe2\x80\xa2 Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Possesses the drive and curiosity to learn and apply new skills, knowledge and new ways of working. \xe2\x80\xa2 Improving & Innovating - Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved. \xe2\x80\xa2 Working Effectively with Stakeholders - Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose.
