Job Description


What the role is:The CDA is a new government agency that is being established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore\'s communicable diseases preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. As a Senior/Public Health Officer of the Immunisation Policy and Strategy (IPS) Division, you will be contributing to the Division\'s objective of minimising morbidity and mortality of vaccine-preventable diseases of public health importance through shaping national immunisation policies and strategies. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:You will be involved in the development of evidence-based immunisation recommendations and strategies, keeping them up to date with latest scientific developments and translating them to programme implementation. You will support the review of new and existing vaccines to formulate recommendations at both population and sub-population level, for both endemic and outbreak diseases. This includes supporting relevant expert committees, keeping abreast of the latest research and regulatory developments relating to vaccines of interest, and updating existing immunisation strategies. In addition, you will be part of a team that also looks into enablers that drive the national immunisation programmes, such as programme evaluation, the National Immunisation Registry and the vaccine injury financial assistance programme. As part of the cross-cutting nature of the work, you will have the opportunity to interact with respective MOH, healthcare and pharmaceutical industry stakeholders, in the design and implementation of these policies and strategies.What we are looking for:Job responsibilities \xe2\x80\xa2 Formulate immunisation policies and strategies to prevent the spread of vaccine preventable diseases \xe2\x80\xa2 Keeping the immunisation policies and strategies up to date \xe2\x80\xa2 Translating policies and strategies into programme implementation \xe2\x80\xa2 Enhance enablers to drive the national immunisation programmes Job Requirements \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum tertiary qualifications from recognised discipline preferably in public health, epidemiology, infectious diseases, or equivalent or work experience in public health-related field and/or policy would be an added advantage \xe2\x80\xa2 Candidates with relevant clinical and vaccinology background are strongly preferred \xe2\x80\xa2 Good personal management and organisational abilities to engage a large variety of stakeholders \xe2\x80\xa2 Forward-thinking, analytical mindset \xe2\x80\xa2 Good situational awareness regarding global developments in vaccine scientific information and data, manufacturing/ pandemic preparedness, with the ability to integrate these developments with research findings to shape policy \xe2\x80\xa2 Good understanding of local and international communicable disease control principles \xe2\x80\xa2 Committed to work and willingness to work under pressure As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.About Ministry of Health:The Ministry of Health\'s (MOH) vision is to champion a healthy nation with our people - to live well, live long and with peace of mind.
