Job Description

This person will play a key role in growth of the book globally and will bring value and will be able to build up a library of trades so they must be comfortable with a strong research approach. This will allow this person to auto execute market opportunity.

The role is quantitative in a sense, however the research underlines the strategy and approach, so it is quant driven analytics triggering market signals to drive the decision-making process.

It will suit somebody who has the right blend of \xe2\x80\x98high touch\xe2\x80\x99 human skill Vs computer skills, however, this is not a high frequency trading role.

Somebody who is capable and has a track record of building ideas, that can be filtered into the companies\xe2\x80\x99 models and back tested to see potential performance is important. Everyone is part of a global book, so it\xe2\x80\x99s very much a collective effort, so it is important the people understand this before showing interest in the role.

They are not looking for somebody with an ego, but perhaps somebody who is quietly confident about how they go about their work and interaction with the team around them. This person will need to be risk disciplined and unbiased in their approach to markets, utilizing market signals such as price volatility and changes in trade volume to detect market trends. They will have a track record on PnL trading prop futures and deploying futures trading strategies across fundamental and technical research.

This may include traders that are more systematic in their approach, using macroeconomics with algorithmic trade support, technical analysis (Price / volume) but it will very much be somebody who is able to manage quant trading strategies, and apply rigor to the key fundamental drivers in their asset class with a defined systematic approach to risk management.

Risk levels will be reflective of seniority, experience level and track record. The company is open to being pitched ideas that \xe2\x80\x98could\xe2\x80\x99 size up the central book, however this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This opportunity will suit somebody who has a strong intellectual curiosity to explore new data sets, solve complex problems, drive innovative processes and an ability to connect the dots between multiple fields. Strong capacity to communicate with technologists, data scientists, data scientists and traders across the globe.

Additional Information

• Minimum of 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience dedicated to trading in their specific areas of either agriculture (Grains or Oilseeds) or Base Metals
• They may also look at somebody at 3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience however it will not be a senior trading level (FYI)
• Core objective is to deliver high quality systematic strategies, monitor trading, strategy performance, implement signals, and relevant datasets within the global execution platform.
• Leverage your trading and market expertise by sharing production results, methodology, datasets and processes with other traders and researchers.
• Monitor signal behaviour and performance of trading strategy as well as lead the full strategy trading lifecycle from risk calibration to trade execution.
• Experience in exploring large datasets across multiple time frames is a plus.
• The focus will be on the China Markets
• Strong communication skills and strong team-player
• Experience working within a mature continuous development process highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Advanced degree in quantitative fields such as data science, statistics, mathematics, physics, or engineering would be preferable.
• Strong knowledge in statistics, machine learning, NLP or AI techniques would be a plus.
• Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while keeping strong attention to detail.
• Coding skills required in at least one leading programming language (Python, R, MATLAB and / or C++, C#).
