Wood Mackenzie is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Analyst to join our Global Short-Term LNG Analytics team. This role is key to forecasting and modelling dynamics of the short-term LNG market and articulating our most up-to-date and relevant insights to clients.

You will be strengthening a broad range of skills, contributing to complex and high-quality analysis, writing market reports and actively engaging with clients. You will be working closely with and learning from experienced regional analysts in Singapore, India, Spain, the UK and the US.

This is a full-time Senior Analyst role, based in Singapore.

About the role

You will be responsible for forecasting and modelling components of our global short-term LNG balances, with a focus on LNG demand.

This will involve collecting market research and data, running complex models, and ensuring our short-term LNG import forecasts remain robust, up-to-date and consistent with our global LNG demand view. You will interact with experienced regional market experts to validate forecasts and model outcomes, which will be a great opportunity to refine your knowledge of the gas, LNG and power markets.

You will be responsible for writing weekly and monthly market commentary to explain our future market view. You will also be creating content for our monthly LNG price outlook report.

In addition to analysis and report writing, you will actively participate in our short-term webinars and in regular client engagement. You will be expected to confidently articulate the results of your analysis internally and externally, as well as to build up the company \xe2\x80\x93 and your personal \xe2\x80\x93 brand in short-term analytics.

As we further develop our LNG short-term capabilities, you will find yourself at the center of our product development program \xe2\x80\x93 helping Wood Mackenzie grow and enhance our short-term product suite, while establishing LNG as a central piece of the next generation of the company\xe2\x80\x99s products.

Qualifications

Your required skills and qualifications include:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of gas & LNG value chains - prior experience on demand modelling is a strong advantage
  • English (fluent spoken and good written proficiency)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and modelling skills
  • Exposure to programming languages (PowerQuery and Python in particular)
  • Experience working with large datasets, databases and data visualization tools
  • BSc or MSc engineering, economics, data science
