Job Description

The Singapore University of Social Sciences invites suitable applications for the position of Senior Research Associate/Research Fellow on a 12-month contract (renewable) for the following project, \xe2\x80\x9cExamining the Implementation of Practice-based Work Approach for the Professional Learning of Associate Faculty\xe2\x80\x9d. The goal of this study is to examine the design of a practice-based learning approach in two graduate certificate courses aimed at building the teaching and learning capacity of Associate Faculty (AF). AF are valuable professionals in the industry who also lend their expertise and experience to the development of students in the institutes of higher learning. It takes a socio-cultural lens to investigate the extent of professional learning afforded by this approach, and the factors that mediate or hinder the AF\'s professional learning.

Job Scope

• Conduct literature review
• Conduct data collection such as video recording, interviews and administer surveys
• Design data collection instruments
• Data processing and analysis
• Project and data management
• Publication and report writing
• Other research related tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator

Job Requirements

Essential:

• Possess a Master or PhD degree in Education, Adult Learning, or equivalent
• Prior experience in research related to education and/or adult learning
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to take initiative and work flexibly, as part of a team, as well as independently with minimum supervision

Preferred:

• Experience with qualitative research methods
