The job function will be to provide expertise in phage-display based approaches for antibody engineering and discovery. The successful candidate will provide important contributions to a fast-paced team with a cutting-edge technology platform.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute panning strategies using antibody phage display for antibody engineering and discovery
  • Construction of antibody phage display libraries for the engineering of antibody attributes
  • Develop and execute high-throughput assays for antibody screening and characterization utilizing ELISA and flow cytometry
  • Plan and conduct the conversion of phage antibody fragments to recombinant antibodies using standard molecular biology techniques and CHO-based antibody expression
  • Adapt new methods to existing procedures and modify current experiments through scientific knowledge and intuition
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of all laboratory work and experiments in electronic files
  • Contribute to the overall safety, operations and organization of the laboratory
  • Train and mentor research associates within team and actively participate in team meetings and presentations as needed
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSc/MSc (with 5+ years experience) OR PhD in Biology or a related field, with experience in a Molecular Biology or Immunology research laboratory
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in panning approaches using phage display
  • Experienced in antibody-based binding assays (ELISA and flow cytometry)
  • Strong experience in molecular biology technologies (cloning and sequencing)
  • Fast learner with problem-solving skills, an ability to work independently and present results and thoughts in a clear and timely manner
  • Disciplined and well-organized with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experienced with mammalian cell culture for antibody production including basic antibody purification
  • Experience with antibody engineering and antibody affinity maturation
  • Industry experience will be a plus
