Set up in June 2000 to offer free home hospice care to the terminally ill of all ages and races, we have since helped more than 5000 patients to live with quality and dignity throughout the last phase of their lives at the comfort of their homes. We primarily take care of patients who are referred from medical institutions and general practitioners. They are diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer and end stage renal failure and usually have a prognosis of less than a year. We provide a holistic care approach with medical consultations and nursing assessments to our care recipients, as well as psychosocial support to them and their families. Our Social Worker will also support our care recipients and their families on the emotional and social aspects if required. As a Senior Resident Physician , the candidate is responsible in the following areas: 1. Nursing Leads nurses to provide medical consults to patients with chronic and advanced diseases in home-based setting and / or centre based setting To work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide symptom management, clinical care, psychological, emotional and spiritual care to patients and their families Formulates and review care plans with multi-disciplinary team to maintain standards of care and ensures safety of patients Assessment of new cases 2. Others Conduct regular team meetings and teaching sessions to team Any ad-hoc duties that are required to support Metta Medical Care beneficiaries / services 3. Requirements Minimum 3 years post-graduation medical school Basic medical degree recognized by Singapore Council Experience working in palliative care/ HomeCare settings is desirable but not essential as training will be provided Ability to speak Mandarin and major dialects is an advantage to liaise withpatients and respective associate
