Key areas of focus i You will grow your career at the Environmental Health Institute (EHI) by leading a research programme at the intersection of computational methods and environmental public health. Key areas of focus include developing computational tools to nowcast and forecast risk of dengue and other diseases, formulating statistical and mathematical models of infectious diseases to understand epidemiology and environmental influences, and assessing the impact and cost-effectiveness of public health interventions. Your work will enhance our understanding of environmental epidemiology, guide the development of public health interventions, and inform operations, resource planning, and policy. You will lead a team of statisticians and data analysts, and interact/collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of laboratory and field researchers. Job Requirements: Doctoral or master's degree in a quantitative discipline, e.g. statistics, applied mathematics, computational biology, or data science, preferably with training in public health Experience in leading a transdisciplinary research programme, managing and developing a team of scientists, and designing and leading research projects. A record of high-quality scientific research, demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, will be an advantage Excellent knowledge of epidemiological study design, statistical and mathematical modelling tools, and data visualisation principles Proficiency in scientific coding and use of statistical software, e.g. R, Python, Stata, etc High capacity for systems thinking and creativity, and inclination for trans-disciplinary science Excellent organisational, analytical, interpersonal, and communications (written and oral) skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple priorities concurrently Self-driven and open to development opportunities As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
