Job Description



Summary This role is responsible for cabin safety standards and quality control by developing policies, standards and procedures and their compliance to safety regulations, ensure improvement and enhancement of cabin safety performance among air crew, and acquiring the necessary regulatory approvals in accordance with requirements.



Cabin Safety


  • Develop, document, and maintain cabin safety policies, processes, and procedures through the management of the Safety & Emergency Procedures Manual and related documents.

  • Participate in the implementation of procedural and regulatory change (e.g. Advisory Circulars, SARPS) \xe2\x80\x93 input to cabin safety publications, forums, and educational safety campaigns, and where required cabin technical specifications.

  • Develop, monitor and maintain cabin safety performance indicators, ensuring incidents are investigated and meet mandatory reporting requirements.

  • Analyse incident root cause, monitor and identify cabin safety trends and hazards, and share with stakeholders for better understanding of operating performance, enable risk assessment and implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and with IOSA ISARPS.

  • Manage cabin safety related project implementation to drive change and deliver benefits to the business.

  • Reporting the progress of cabin safety assurance at regular intervals to the appropriate level of management.


Safety Management

  • Participate in all safety-related activities within the requirements of the safety program with respect to the Safety Management System, ANR and industry best practices.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Scoot\xe2\x80\x99s Safety Management System and the Department Procedures Manual.

  • Assist with the management and administration of occurrence reports and investigation reports, including escalation and quality control of reports, and highlighting reportable safety matters to internal stakeholders and submissions to the Authority in accordance with requirements of the ANR.

  • Assist in monitoring of incident trends and raise potential issues as needed.



Safety Training & Promotion

  • Participate in audits and training locally as well as at overseas stations as required.

  • Acts as an information conduit to bring safety issues to the attention of management and to deliver safety information to the organization\xe2\x80\x99s staff, contractors and stakeholders.

  • Assist with development and implementation of safety education, training and promotion programs including safety publications, promotional material and communication.

  • Provides and articulates information regarding safety issues within the organization.

  • Attend staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate.

  • Undertake special projects and perform other duties as required.


Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or relevant experience.

  • Minimum 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as cabin crew or 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in aviation safety, preferably in cabin safety.

  • Good knowledge of cabin safety and safety management systems.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Word.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills in order to be able to interface with all levels of personnel.

  • Highly perceptive and methodical.
