We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Specialist, Shield Underwriting. Principal Responsibilities

• Underwrite all New Business applications within the assigned approving authority, consistent with the company’s underwriting philosophy
• Communicate decisions to intermediaries within the agreed turnaround time. This role includes negotiating terms with reinsurers, handling enquiries and resolving appeals with the distribution channels
• Build the trust and develop strong relationships with key distributors and be willing to work collaboratively to facilitate the customer experience
• Work with team members to implement initiatives that enhance the underwriting operations

Requirements
Requirements

• A recognized degree, diploma or a “A” Levels, equivalent professional insurance qualification
• Having a basic Nursing or related medical background or have worked as a paramedic is an added advantage
• At least 3 years of underwriting experience
• With exposure and participation in the successful delivery of underwriting-related projects and initiatives
• FALU/FLMI qualification is an advantage
