About the Team

Our AI & Data Engineering team builds scalable platforms and machine learning solutions that power Coupang's e-commerce ecosystem. We focus on predictive analytics, real-time data processing, and AI-driven optimization to deliver world-class customer experiences.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly technical leader to drive large-scale AI and data engineering programs. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and machine learning workflows. You will be partner with engineering teams to design and deliver solutions that leverage big data and AI to optimize fulfillment, personalization, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of AI/ML and data engineering initiatives, from architecture design to production deployment. Define and implement scalable data pipelines, feature stores, and real-time streaming systems. Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to operationalize machine learning models. Ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with security and privacy standards. Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures and Infrastructure-as-Code for data platforms. Establish KPIs for model accuracy, latency, and cost optimization; monitor and improve continuously. Mentor engineering teams on best practices in data engineering, ML Ops, and distributed computing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

(Master's preferred). 10+years of experience in technical program management or engineering leadership roles. Strong knowledge of

data engineering, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)

. Hands-on experience with

big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop)

and

ML Ops frameworks

. Familiarity with

Python, Java, or Scala

for data processing and automation. Proven ability to manage complex technical programs with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience deploying

AI/ML models at scale

in production environments. Expertise in

data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
