What the role is
The Government Technology Agency (GovTech) aims to transform the delivery of Government digital services by taking an "outside-in" view, putting citizens and businesses at the heart of everything we do. We also develop the Smart Nation infrastructure and applications, and facilitate collaboration with citizens and businesses to co-develop technologies. About Us - Collaboratory, Singapore Tourism Board (STB): The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) aims to transform how visitors travel and experience Singapore through solutions that ease frictions in a user’s journey. We work on such solutions through collaborations with other government agencies and tourism businesses across Singapore. The Collaboratory is an in-house development team that seeks to design and develop innovative and engaging solutions for our visitors to Singapore through an agile approach, adopting the best practices and tools to ensure a good user experience while meeting the actual user needs. As the Technical Lead, you will be leading a small team of engineers to design, develop and deploy solutions across STB’s digital channels. You will also have opportunities to explore areas beyond software development, such as devops, cloud infrastructure, and software QA.
What you will be working on
Lead an agile development team to deliver high-quality software applications according to requirements. This may include web application/API backends, web application frontends and mobile applications. Adopt software engineering practices such as Scrum, code reviews and test-driven development.
What we are looking for
- Translate business requirements into technical / architectural specifications - Collaborate with in-house development teams or vendor development staff to resolve technical challenges - Continuous integration/continuous deployment - Cloud/PaaS platforms, such as AWS, and docker/container technology - Modern web application technologies such as Node.js, Vue.JS and Ruby on Rails. - Experience with government projects and related compliance requirements - Experience working with multiple teams, especially in large cross-functional projects - A minimum of 5 years’ relevant working experience is preferred, with at least 1 year in a lead role - Mindset to challenge status quo and constantly seeking continuous improvement - Ability to present effectively and explain complex, technical concepts in simple, easy to understand terms - High attention to detail Shortlisted candidates will be referred to GovTech
