Supports customer needs by leading the development of new applications. Provides technical knowledge on the use, handling, and management of Dow products. Uses understanding of the customer to define projects that deliver technical solutions to customers and markets.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Help to develop electronics business (e.g. Consumer & communications Electronics, Microelectronics, MEMS Sensors, Mobility & Transportation Electronics) by identifying new opportunities for unmet customer needs or new applications and converting growth opportunities to commercial success.
• Technical support and application development for polymeric materials applied in above markets (based on silicone chemistry, polyurethane chemistry, epoxy and hybrid technologies), Uses broad market, customer and application knowledge and understanding of the competitive technologies to solve complex technical issues.
• Conduct different characterizations for products in lab and assess material properties to generate data for existing materials or new product development
• Fully participates in the development of technology maps for projects. Communicates and appropriately documents work in the form of internal reports/presentations, technology manuals, knowledge management resources, external reports, and ICD/patents when appropriate. Presents at industry conferences on behalf of Dow.
• Possesses a thorough knowledge of assigned Dow products and targeted applications, and uses the knowledge to drive technical discussions at customers on suitability of material to customer specific application and advice for customers (such as material properties, how to apply material and troubleshooting)
• Engage cross-functional stakeholders (commercial, technical) to drive innovation growth
• Deliver an excellent customer experience for existing and prospective customers with a customer-centric mindset and ensure consistent experience across different touchpoints with Dow. Convinces others about differentiated technical solutions. Understands how business value is created for Dow and the customer.
• Delivers presentations with clear results and proposals to influence internal and external audiences.

Education

• Strong interpersonal skills and customer orientation
• Bachelor /Masters / PhD degree in Science (Polymers, Materials, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical , Electronics, )
• 5-8 years prior work experience in external-facing / technical service / R&D / R&D process roles in Electronics industry with Assembly Electronics, semiconductors (packaging, assembly), microelectronics and sensors industry.
• Desired: Knowledge of packages (such as BGA, flip chip, fan-in fan-out, stacked die) and processes in MEMS/sensors process integration, temporary bonding technologies, encapsulation, jetting, dispensing, etching, thin wafer handling will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of trends in Electronics, sensors, assembly, consumer and communication markets will be advantageous.
• Able to travel (~30% of time)
• Has high safety quotient for working in lab
• Excellent Verbal/written/presentational skills
• Desired: Project management Experience
