Job Summary:

This role involves underwriting cases within agreed processes and risk appetite, and with senior direction & guidance, to achieve business development and retention targets. You will spend the majority of your time delivering building relationships with agents and direct corporates, make underwriting decisions, referring cases outside personal authority limits, supporting more qualified colleagues and contributing to policy wordings and managing customer interactions. You must also be a good team player as required to work with other colleagues responsible for underwriting risks. You will have strong analytical, relationship management and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day underwriting of the agency channel and ensure quick turnaround.
• Develop and maintain good relationship with assigned agents/cluster focusing on Independent Financial Advisor and/or Direct (Corporate) Agents.
• Able to provide trainings for off-the-shelf products, as needed.
• Drive new business pipelines and relationship management.
• Review allocated cases and deliver underwriting decisions, following agreed processes at the designated authority level and with the necessary senior direction and support, in order to secure profitable business within the agreed risk appetite.
• Identify non-standard or complex risks and escalate to more qualified colleagues to ensure they are handled appropriately.

• Minimum 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 of experience in General Insurance Industry
• Knowledge of Commercial and Personal Insurance
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Keen learner and a self-starter
• Positive attitude and able to handle challenges
• Possess Industry Professional Certifications
