Job Summary:
Responsible for building, maintaining, and developing relationships within a portfolio of Accounts to secure profitable renewals and generate new business, in line with agreed area/segment strategies, and within agreed processes and risk appetite. You will be responsible for delivering underwriting decisions, managing Accounts and Account Plans.
Job Duties:
\xc2\xb7 Reviewing allocated complex, specialist cases or scheme opportunities and deliver underwriting decisions, following agreed processes at the designated authority level, in order to secure profitable business within the agreed risk appetite.
\xc2\xb7 Contributing to technical audits and peer review processes as required to support and enable the maintenance of an effective control environment.
\xc2\xb7 Leading or playing a major role in managing and developing an agreed portfolio of Accounts in order to maximise profitable revenue potential from new and renewal business and achieve agreed business targets.
\xc2\xb7 Leading or contributing to the development and monitoring of Account Plans, gaining agreement to and implementing them in order to secure renewals and optimise profitable new business growth potential at individual account level.
\xc2\xb7 Identifying, recommending and leading or contributing to the implementation of marketing activities, business development initiatives etc. to increase overall revenue, ?share of wallet? and business mix in line with agreed Account Plans.
\xc2\xb7 Contributing to the wider development of effective business strategies, priorities and market propositions, drawing on own knowledge, understanding and interpretation of local markets, competitors and Accounts.
\xc2\xb7 Actively engaging in the identification, prioritisation, negotiation and winning of new Account relationships in line with agreed business strategies and delegated authorities.
\xc2\xb7 Providing expert advice, guidance and coaching to less qualified and/or experienced colleagues to address technical referrals and raise standards and expertise across the technical community.
\xc2\xb7 Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous, and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
\xc2\xb7 Complying with the underwriting guidelines, systems and procedures.
\xc2\xb7 Assisting to maintain underwriting files in an orderly manner and in accordance with the underwriting guidelines.
\xc2\xb7 Responsible for timely and correct issuance of bound policies.
\xc2\xb7 Attending important industry conferences and seminars as appropriate.
\xc2\xb7 Staying current with respect to major industry issues and developments.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
\xc2\xb7 Minimum 5 years? experience in an insurance role related to Professional/ Financial lines or Healthcare - broking, underwriting or claims.
\xc2\xb7 Experience in Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers Liability, Cyber Insurance, Investment Management Insurance experience will be an advantage.
\xc2\xb7 Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
\xc2\xb7 Analytical mindset and is results focused.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to interface with employees and management at various levels within Allied World.
\xc2\xb7 Maintains a high level of professionalism, integrity and trust.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise work.
\xc2\xb7 Ability and willingness to work outside normal office hours and travel as required.
\xc2\xb7 Effectively resolve conflict among priorities.
\xc2\xb7 Team player, able to work collaboratively.
