What the role is:

At the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Division, our mission is to strengthen connectivity and interoperability with overseas markets, as well as build economic resilience and adaptability, through economic engagements with Europe and Central Asia. Europe tea In recent years, global developments and longer-term trends have generated fresh impetus for us to review, revitalise and refresh our economic engagement strategies. We are broadening our coverage to address new opportunities and challenges such as the digital and green economies. We are actively developing novel G2G collaborations such as Digital Economy Agreements (DEAs) and Green Economy Agreements (GEAs), as well as establishing new economic platforms to strengthen linkages between Singapore and our key markets. Our larger vision is to update and where relevant, transform Singapore\'s approach for international economic cooperation in the coming decade. Central Asia tea The Central Asia team develops and implements policies aimed at growing Singapore\'s economic relations with emerging markets in Russia and Central Asia. That includes developing strategies to seize opportunities and address challenges faced by Singapore companies as they venture into the emerging markets, bringing together stakeholders ranging from businesses to other ministries and statutory boards to advance Singapore\'s economic interests in these emerging markets and driving initiatives such as bilateral platforms, pursuing economic agreements, and staffing of Ministerial visits.

What you will be working on:

Given our strategy reviews, we are opening up vacancies in our division. You will wear four hats: (i) trade diplomat; (ii) trade negotiator; (iii) trade policy analyst; and (iv) account manager for a diverse range of local and foreign government, industry and people sector stakeholders. Some job functions include: \xe2\x80\xa2 Promote connectivity and interoperability with overseas markets through negotiating and implementing G2G agreements such as Free Trade Agreements, DEAs and GEAs \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop new avenues to deepen cooperation with other markets, including in emerging growth areas such as the digital and green economies \xe2\x80\xa2 Represent Singapore in negotiations, official visits, and conferences. Account-manage and collaborate with local and foreign stakeholders, and other Singapore government agencies \xe2\x80\xa2 Analyse and report on relevant geopolitical and economic developments in other markets, and develop policy recommendations to political office holders and senior management \xe2\x80\xa2 Craft communications materials to convey announcements and Singapore\'s trade policy strategies and positions \xe2\x80\xa2 Organise and manage outgoing and incoming visits by political officer holders to strengthen economic relations with markets under our coverage
