Job Purpose

Momentum Ventures is looking for a motivated and driven self-starter to provide support in portfolio management of existing investments and evaluation of potential start-ups investments. The role is also expected to support the Strategy, Enterprise Risk & Investment (SERI) office to drive strategic initiatives across the SMRT Group; through collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Track financial, operational metrics and monitor developments of portfolio companies including valuation analyses and business evaluation
• Provide regular updates on the performance of individual portfolio companies
• Evaluate and assist in the strategic implementation of starts-ups with various stakeholders within the SMRT Group
• Sector research analyses and competitors benchmarking
• Evaluate dealflow pipeline for potential investment, perform due diligence and research on investment targets and assist in deal execution tasks
• Assist in projects undertaken by SERI office (e.g., Merger & Acquisitions, Annual Strategic Planning exercise)
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required

Qualifications & Work Experience

• 3-5 years working experience in investment & research, corporate finance, in-house strategy, corporate development or equivalent function. Candidates from other fields with relevant or transferrable skillsets will also be considered
• Tertiary education (i.e. Diploma or Degree equivalent)

Given the multi-faceted nature of work, we are looking for a motivated self-starter who possess the following skills:

• Clarity in critical thinking and processing; ability to synthesize insights and define clear action plan, from data and facts
• Strong quantitative skills and numerical literacy; proficient with Microsoft Excel and other enabling tools to drive detailed and robust analyses
• Strong communication skills; pleasant personality and ability to work well in a cross-functional setup
• Proficient in fundamental analysis with ability to analyze companies, including valuation analyses and financial modeling
• Good understanding of the macroeconomic landscape, knowledge in the mobility sector is a plus
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
