We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.As an Senior Technician, (Facilities & Utilities) you are tasked to operate, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of plant facilities and utilities equipment to meet HSE, quality and productivity standards that is aligned with the Alcon guidelines for the execution of an effective equipment maintenance program. The Senior Technician will also be responsible for electro-mechanical knowledge upskilling of their peers at Tuas. In this role, a typical day will include:Responsibilities * Perform maintenance work in accordance to SOPs and Job Plans generated from the preventative and corrective maintenance management system.

  • Ensure that all PM plans are executed without any overdue maintenance.
  • Application of Maintenance Reliability principles for continuous improvement of the PM process vs. area of expertise in facilities and utilities systems.
  • Carry out unscheduled troubleshooting of facilities and utilities equipment (WFI/RO/Clean Steam/Compressed Air/Black Utilities) within a GMP, high volume aseptic manufacturing environment. A minimum expectation of x1 area of primary expertise will be required as a Senior Technician.
  • Ownership on the spare part requirements for the primary equipment(s) of expertise will be required. On-going assessment will be required using the bathtub curve of reliability principle and assessment of current stock holdings and part requirements.
  • Aid in the sharing of electro-mechanical knowledge to other team members, while continuing to utilize other Mechanic, Engineers, Leads, etc. in addition to vendors to further develop oneself electrical, mechanical, trouble shooting and process knowledge for the facilities and utilities area.
  • Daily monitoring of the facilities and utilities systems thru SCADA, BAS and on site.
  • Strict adherence to cGMP and GDP (SOPs, PMs, CMs, etc.). Reporting any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Provide verbal guidance in document correct trend (DCT), non-conformance investigations (NCI) and CAPA efforts as required with cross-functional team members.
  • Strict adherence to all site safety requirements and focus on opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors / vendors in the execution of their duties to ensure maintenance services or equipment improvement projects (Installation and modification) are successfully carried out.
  • Participation in 5S (& maintain), equipment and/ or process continuous improvement (CI) projects, with the use of system trend analysis where applicable.
  • Ability to work and share overtime requirements as necessary within the Maintenance group to support PM, CM and Production efforts. The role will also require a rotating three-shift pattern.
  • Maintain interface with all stakeholders (e.g. Compounding. Fill & Pack and HSE) to ensure quality maintenance services are provided to support manufacturing operations.
  • Shift reporting documentation and initiate / update / improvement of all job aids and one-point lessons of all facilities and utilities equipment.
  • Ensure medium and low risk level-controlled supply item (CSI) incoming inspection, review of Material certificates/ COCs/COAs and the use at GMP environment upon SQA approval.
  • Ability to work odd hours in supporting maintenance work, production activities and plant shutdown activities.
  • Support plant equipment commissioning activities for any new installation as required.
  • Any other tasks as and when assigned by Supervisor.
What You\'ll Bring to Alcon * Education: Diploma
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years pharmaceutical processing experience in an Equipment Maintenance environment.
  • Maximo, electrical, control system, and calibration experience will be beneficial when applying for this role.
  • Prior experience in a Boiler operation with Boiler attendant certification will be considered advantageous.
  • Candidates preferably in Electrical background with good knowledge of troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation.
