What the role is:
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. The Service Ambassador is responsible for welcoming and guiding visitors to the appropriate services they need when they walk through our doors at Woodlands West Neighbouhood Centre (NPC) and Yishun NPC. The Service Ambassador will assess the nature of the enquiry or visit and provide step-by-step assistance to guide them to use digital services via the self-service kiosks, or refer the visitors to the relevant officers for follow-up. You will be placed under management executive scheme.
What you will be working on:
We are looking for a dedicated and friendly individual to serve as the first point of contact for visitors to Woodlands West NPC and Yishun NPC. You should have a welcoming demeanour, be patient and empathetic when speaking to the visitors to establish the purpose of their visits, and assess the urgency and seriousness of their matters before connecting them to the relevant officers or resources for follow up. You must be familiar with the SPF's suite of services in order to attend to their enquiries and may be required to assist or guide visitors to lodge electronic police reports via the self-help kiosks. You should be able to communicate clearly, and remain polite, respectful and calm in emotionally-charged situations.
What we are looking for:
REQUIREMENTS o Strong communication and interpersonal skills o Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when dealing with distressed or upset individuals o Proficient in English and mother tongue o Fluency in dialects and other languages would be an advantage o Basic proficiency in Microsoft software such as Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and prepared to work hands-on with in-house service quality related systems o Previous experience in customer service work, policing, emergency response or government service sectors will be valuable Shortlisted candidate will be notified within two weeks time after the closing date of application.
