About the team
Our Commercial team is a pivotal component of Doctor Anywhere. We're a tenacious group in charge of a wide range of business development and strategic partnership initiatives. Our primary job is to establish and expand our collaboration with insurance providers, healthcare agencies and corporate clients in order to provide healthcare to employees and the community.
About the role
We are seeking a Manager, Business Development to join the Singapore team who will identify and secure new business opportunities as well as lead relationship development for key clients (eg. Insurers, Brokers, Corporate MNCs). This role will require the candidate to be both data and relationship-driven, with intuitive strategic insight to understand clients’ needs, patience and empathy to cultivate trust, and identify key value propositions to engage meaningfully with multiple stakeholders of different departments.
The ideal candidate will have a mindset of continuous improvement and change and will demonstrate curiosity, collaboration and the ability to deal with ambiguity especially in a start-up environment. S/he will also be result-oriented, highly collaborative, a compelling communicator and problem solver who can derive insights from data, influence and drive change. You will be expected to work closely with internal cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations and finance as you hunt and harvest new and existing business relationships.
This role reports directly to the Vice President, Commercial.
A summary of the key responsibilities and requirements are as follows:
Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of new business through proactive outreach, managing qualified leads and targeted account mappings
  • Ability to navigate large corporate organizations, network, and sell to multiple buyers within varied layers of an organization
  • Identify upsell opportunities within the existing client base and explore new revenue conversations on new and existing DA products and services.
  • Create strong relationships with key decision-makers and senior leaders who can help you navigate matrixed organizations
  • Lead an account management cluster for assigned accounts and support team members where required
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, marketing, production, and content development to build a funnel for new business opportunities and to resolve issues faced by clients
  • Define strategic 1-2 year account plan in conjunction with the relevant areas and ensure execution
  • Gather market intelligence, share with relevant areas and identify implications for key clients to ensure appropriate measures are taken to redress
  • Proactively communicate relevant information to various other areas to ensure they have the necessary understanding to make decisions
  • Maintain easy, quick and high-quality interactions with all touch points and escalate resolutions in a swift and client centric manner
  • Negotiate, prepare, and issue renewal documentation within agreed timeframes and to ensure favourable outcomes for both parties
  • Drives development and implementation of technical parameters, policies and frameworks for others to work around with
  • Lead, train, and mentor the team on the ground, to serve as both a coach and team player

About you
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 - 8 years of progressive business development sales and account management experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally within Healthcare/Insurance environment dealing with large complex client relationships
  • Highly customer-focused individual with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with proven sales track record and stakeholder’s management experience
  • Highly motivated and innovative individual possessing the ability to work under pressure and to continuously meet tight deadlines and service standards
  • Self-starter, independent, organised with strong business acumen
  • Unquestioned integrity and high standards in the work you do
  • Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn and grow
  • A start-up attitude – highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial, roll-up-your sleeves attitude, pragmatic, and able to work independently when required
  • Comfortable with ambiguity - we're a fast-growing business and there's always unchartered territories, which is part of the fun. You should be comfortable with it and understand that not everything is 100% defined all the time.
