Job Description

a) JOB DESCRIPTION

• With overall responsibility for the project managers, site managers and health and safety staff.
• Responsible for the project delivery from order received through to onsite completion.
• To be involved with key projects at tender stage, inspection plan, procurement and erection programs and assist in the preparation erection method statement of the safe system of work to ensure we complete with the correct disciplines involved.
• To assist and develop the role of the project managers as they undertake the project planning, phasing, sequencing and co-ordination of all products constructed within company. (i.e Steelwork, Metal Work and Steel Mould)
• To assist and develop the role of the site engineer / manager, as they undertake the role of safe site execution on execution on each project, ensuring safety and competency.
• Oversee the issue of the subcontract packages through the project teams, ensure that the correct company is appointed to undertake the task.
• Manage subcontractors’ activities to ensure compliance of contract requirements.
• Ensure all the budget set are adhered to when the project teams are procuring the materials and subcontract packages.
• Oversee the project team and subcontractors in delivery of project to meet completion date.
• Provides leadership to the project management and construction team.

b) JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must have minimum 5-10 years experienced in structural steel work and metal work with a proven track record in managing both project managers and site staff in a multi project environment.
• Have suitable experience working to tight project time-lines and budget / cost control.
• Display good interpersonal skills to develop your members of staff in their career development.
• Have a good working relationship with clients, subcontractors and suppliers and ensure that all schedules are met.
• Be familiar with structural steel and MET design, understand engineering drawings and component manufacturing for installation on site.
• Be able to communicate effectively with other department heads and have sufficient experience and the ability to communicate to others the continuous development for site health and safety.
• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or Quantity Surveying preferred.
