JOB DESCRIPTION * Assist the technical director in the following areas: * Manage, oversee and coordinate the different technical functional roles in NSCC to ensure that:routine operations run sm JOB DESCRIPTION Assist the technical director in the following areas: Manage, oversee and coordinate the different technical functional roles in NSCC to ensure that:routine operations run smoothly services rendered are timely and in line with NSCC's objectives Resources are used optimally procedural and governance guidelines/requirements are adhered to Work with the Business Development team to ensure that NSCC is able to fulfil users' requirements. Plan for and implement enhancements to NSCC's offerings and operations, including system upgrades and expansion of service offerings Long term strategic planning for major upgrades or enhancements Advice NSCC CE on technical matters related to supercomputing or peripheral issues REQUIREMENTS Degree in computer science or a relevant scientific discipline. A post-graduate degree in computer science or a relevant scientific discipline is highly desirable. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar environment if the applicant has a relevant post-graduate qualification or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar environment. Sound working knowledge of supercomputer operations and paradigms which may include, but are not limited to:Parallel programming (MPI, OpenMP, etc.) Job scheduling Systems/storage architecture GPU for HPC/ML Containers Machine learning frameworks HPC software build tools including compilers, mathematical libraries, etc. Competent in or familiar with periphery IT issues which may include, but are not limited to:cloud computing and other web technologies networking cyber-security
