About the role:
Continuous monitoring of contractor safety performance.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship and effective communication with terminal stakeholders, such as the Terminal Management, Project, Maintenance and Operations teams
Review of contractor SHE Plans, method statements, risk assessments, certifications and other associated documents
Conduct daily site inspections, ensuring compliance of all permit conditions
Ensure high standards of SHE are maintained for the duration of the project and that SHE objectives for the Project are regularly communicated to personnel
Report all near miss incidents and accidents, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions on site
Support SHE Manager and Senior/SHE Executive in the implementation of action plans identified through analysis of incidents reported
Ensuring the implementation of a Permit to Work (PTW) system and PTW training for the commissioning and operation phases of the Project
Monitoring, compiling and reporting SHE statistics to the Project Manager, Maintenance Manager and SHE Manager as required
Execute periodic site emergency exercises which may include working-at-height drills, confined space drills, rescue boat drills, etc.
Conduct contractor SHMS audits for pre-qualification of contractors
Achieve yearly set targets and SHE Plan, both Project & Terminal
Ensure contractors are trained in Fundamentals & conduct work according to the requirements of VF
Zero infringement of government requirements & regulations by the terminal.
Instill pro-active SHE Culture in contractors through the introduction of SHE Culture tools
Attain zero failure on existing equipment during the entire period of project
Complete the planned SHE engagement programs including, but not limited to: Go & See, contractor meetings & joint inspections, Trust & Verify, mass toolbox sessions, etc.
Routine risk assessment and root cause analysis
Non-routine fire, safety, health, security & environmental problems.
Prioritization of work & assignments,
Making the right decision in adopting the proper emergency handling techniques and strategies.
Issue stop work when work activities are carried out without controls identified as part of the risk assessment process.
About you:
A Diploma or Degree is preferred.
3 to 5 years of experience in oil&gas construction environment.
Minimally completed WSQ Advanced Certificate in WSH (Level B); higher would be preferred i.e. WSQ Specialist Diploma in WSH (Level C)
Preferably certified in the following mandated courses:
Work-at-Heights Supervisor or Assessor
Supervise Work in Confined Space
Supervise Construction Work in WSH
Supervise WSH in Process Plant
Candidates must be self-motivated and driven, able to work independently.
Good people skills/ interpersonal skills are essential.
