Shift Laboratory Supervisor (West)

Responsibilities:

• Supervise technicians in all laboratory works including day to day operations, maintenance of laboratory equipment and keeping a clean work environment using 5S methodologyPerform failure investigations to determine the root cause and preventive actions
• Ensure the availability of imported product COA on timely manner
• Ensure adequate manpower to support the lab operations
• Work together with assistant chemist for equipment troubleshooting and escalate any equipment issue & any other unusual occurrence to assistant chemist
• Responsible for Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitoring of IATF products
• Responsible for testing of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) samples of IATF products
• Ensure the testing performed by the team is compliant to WI/SOP, IATF 16949 (Automotive QMS) and ISO 9001
• Assist to perform trial blends for product development work. Ensure the optimal formula in accordance to specifications and requirements.
• Ensure HSEQ rules and guidelines are adhered in the lab
• Ensure the availability of the shelf life for all the packed additives
• Responsible for GHS implementation (SDS & label) in the lab as per SS 586
• Responsible for the routine hazardous waste disposal and ensure the flammable quantity waste outside flammable cabinet does exceed the limit as per SS641
• Responsible for the record keeping of purchase, store, & use of Hazardous Substances.
• Conduct and review Risk Assessment of new and existing lab procedures.
• Participate in Operational Excellence projects
• Assist to coordinate with external vendors on the repair works, preventive maintenance, and any other routine/non-routine jobs when necessary.
• Ensure the inventories are monitored to support continuous operation with minimum cost
• Assist in routine and non-routine samples analysis in the event of manpower shortage
• Ensure the team performs the routines QC samples, HSEQ, equipment maintenance checklist and all other necessary checks according to WI/SOP

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Chemical Process Technology / Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant working experience preferably with supervisory experience
• Familiar with oil & gas testing as per ASTM method. Familiar with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 quality systems
• Able to work on the weekly rotating shift
