: Industry: Trading and Vessel management Location: Central Salary Range: $6,000 (Max) Working hours: 9.00am - 5.00pm (Mon-Fri) OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist the Shipping Accountant to produce monthly reports for over 40 comp : Industry: Trading and Vessel management Location: Central Salary Range: $6,000 (Max) Working hours: 9.00am - 5.00pm (Mon-Fri) OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist the Shipping Accountant to produce monthly reports for over 40 companies, as well as financial statements, budgets and forecasts. Assist in managing financial reporting obligations of the Shipping Group. This role encompasses the full cycle of accounting from transactions to reporting within the Group and to relevant third-party stakeholders. This role will provide technical challenges and insight into a global shipping Group with over $1.6B in shipping assets. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting . Preparation of consolidated P&L and balance sheet schedules . Reconciling Group balance sheet inter-company balances and transactions . To assist the accountant in the statutory financial audit . To ensure all accounts and XBRL are submitted to ACRA in prescribed timeline . To assist the accountant in any other assignments relating to shipping . To assist in preparing the annual budget and reforecasts for the shipping Group. Accounting . Full set of accounting - updating and maintenance of general ledger . Monthly closing of each individual shipping companies . Responsible for processing invoicing - revenue and cost accounting and payment / receipt processes . Daily transactional entry of accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) in the accounting software . Daily processing of all shipping bank transactions and posting entries in system and monthly bank reconciliations . Responsible for monthly and ad-hoc billings REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB Qualifications and Experience . Accountancy qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 2 years post qualification experience including preparation of full set of financial reports under IFRS Knowledge and Skills Familiar with International Financial Reporting Standards Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word Experience with an accounting system (GP Dynamics) is preferred Industry experience in Shipping is preferred but not a prerequisite Attributes Good interpersonal skills and able to work with various internal stakeholders Self-driven, proactive and holds a positive learning attitude Ability to work independently under tight deadlines Meticulous, with a keen eye for potential errors Ability to identify areas of inefficiency and potential change Ability to pre-empt (future proof) requirements All Successful candidates can expect a very competitive remuneration package and a comprehensive range of benefits.
